Well of course the moms here are right! it's a virus; no strep and no ear infection (though since we're on the road this weekend i'll take the drops w/ me from last time!). Thanks for easing the pain so-to-speak!

DS bounced right back after Motrin and you "see" the Motrin wear off ~ and then the next dose take effect

He's sleeping now :-)

DS has his 3 year well visit on thursday and was 100% fine, passed w/ flying colors. By Saturday he was getting run-down, tired, just hanging around and not wild/too active. He threw up once, diarrhea once and that was it. He was OK yesterday so this morning he went to daycare. Well i get "the call" at 4:45pm that he had a fever of 102.5, diarrhea twice, didn't eat lunch, etc.

He's resting now and wanted to go to bed at 6:30; he's been asleep/resting since and says his tummy hurts.

I called the ped on my way home from daycare and they were closed! Today is a holiday and the on-call Dr isn't in our insurance. We'll take him in first thing in the AM.

But any ideas from BTDT moms or dads?

TIA!

Sounds like a virus, and from the timing it could be something he picked up from the drs. office. DD had something similar this past summer, and it took about a week for her to act and eat normally. She only threw up once, and had mild diarrhea (like twice) but she wasn't acting her normal chipper self for that week. It was the wiedest thing to see her just sit there on the couch, and of course I was worried since she wasn't eating very well.

I hope he's feeling better soon!

It sounds like he might have picked something up from the pede's office. Since he's having a combo of diarrhea and vomiting, the main thing is to make sure he remains hydrated. I would also keep an eye on his temperature, but try not to overdo the tylenol/advil, just because the body fights infections/viruses much better at elevated temperatures (but of course you don't want his temperature to spike).

I hope he feels better soon! :(

Thank you both for your replies! I'll sleep better tonight :-) Naturally we have a 6 hour drive on Friday for BIL's wedding Friday Night. We'll have to see about that (except that DH is doing the photography!).

I'll update after the ped. tomorrow.

Thanks!

Yay! I'm so glad he's sleeping well at least. That's definitely the best medicine!

I hope you're able to have a good weekend trip!
