I found this story and thought it was very sad...but maybe something can be learned from it:

I saw that yesterday and couldn't believe it!! A friend was planning to buy them as birthday presents--for families with babies. Good thing we discussed it yesterday.

We'll no longer be looking to buy this product.

I saw magnetix listed as a great toddler game for flights, and my DH and I were talking about getting them. Thank goodness I saw this first!

I agree! I was thinking of buying this as well. I will definitely NOT be buying it now.

:( Thank you for posting. I'm pretty sure this toy won't be in our house, either.

Wow, we have several sets of these. Ryden doesn't play with them (he would LOVE to as he loves magnets), but Caden isn't always the best about putting everything away when he's done playing (they aren't allowed outside of his room, but Ryden does sneak into his room at times). I'll be putting these away for awhile I guess. I will say, they are alot of fun, but clearly they are not worth having around as long as I still have a child who still randomly puts things into his mouth.

Thanks for posting this.

Thanks for posting. I actually just bought a set for a 5 yo birthday this weekend. He does not have any siblings yet. I just sent an email to his mom letting her know about the problems and asking her if she would like another gift instead.

Oh, how tragic. If anything is to be learned is that we MUST heed the warnings on labels. Apparently, even if a child doesn't choke there are other hazards.

O, my heart broke for the mother... I remember seeing that and was wondering if it was appropriate yet for DS. Well, now I don't think so.

Thanks for posting it.
