All is going "okay" here. Baby Hannah is staying put...much to my dismay at this point. I have a bad back (scoliosis), and she is aggrivating my sciatic nerve. I'm in alot of pain and discomfort at this point, and have been for several weeks now. Everytime I go for a check-up, the midwives tell me she'll be born in the next day or two! But here she sits, not ready to face the world. UGH.

I'm 6 cm. dialated, 100% effaced, 0 station, and just had my membranes stripped yesterday. The doctor didn't even want to let me leave for fear I'd have the baby on the way home. He wanted to send me over to the hospital. But we left to labor at home, then went and walked at the mall for 2 hrs. and at home for an hour, and I only had 3 contractions. No sign of baby coming anytime soon. Sigh. I have even tried numerous herbal remedies to get the contractions going, but they aren't working!

My mother is scheduled to leave on my due date, because we figured the baby would've been born long ago. She doesn't have the money to change her flight date, or to buy another ticket back here, so as it stands, I may not have any family help after the baby is born.

I'm sooo frustrated and exhausted from the emotional roller coaster of it all. Each week we get our hopes up of the baby being born "soon", only to have another week go by with no action. At this point, I'm betting I'll go past my due date and need to be induced...somthing I really don't want to happen. I wanted a totally natural birth. But at this point, I just to have my baby NOW!

Think of me, and pray Hannah comes soon!

Amy, I know you are frustrated, but just think I could've been so much worse! Having a preemie is no fun! Isn't it ironic that now you are wishing for her to come?! I am sending labor vibes your way!

Hugs Amy!! The waiting game is so hard, especially when you're so far dilated and thinking "any second now" :(

Sending big hugs and labor vibes your way!

The waiting game is awful. With DD I was put on bed rest after having pre-term labor at 31 weeks. When I got off bed rest I expected to have her right away, but no such luck. She's been stubborn since conception and didn't come out until 12 days after her due date, when they finally induced me. I was sooo sick of people asking me "haven't you had that baby yet?"!

I hope Hannah decides to make her appearance soon! I know the waiting is awful at the end.
Can your mom freeze a bunch of meals for you before she goes? I'm sorry she has to leave. My mom was supposed to help me for a month after DS was born but ended up having to go home early. It was hard, because I had it in my mind that she would be there for a certain amount of time after DS was born and then it didn't happen. Do you have any friends who could help you out in the first month? I have some friends with no family, and I cooked some meals and helped them with shopping during the first month after their baby was born. I was totally busy at the time, but I knew they needed more help than I did. Do you have anyone who might be willing to help you a little bit? I know when I've been totally swamped and needed help with DS, even having someone come over for an hour was a huge help. If you had a bunch of meals frozen and then some other help, that would probably help.
Take care, mama! Know that I'm thinking of you.

Oh, Amy, what a roller coaster! But you know, it sounds like your body is gearing up for a fast, effective birth. You haven't hit your due date yet and you're near transition without having had to go through labor yet. Your body has done a good job growing this little girl, and it knows when and how to help her be born. Hang in there-- it's not going to be long until she's safely in your arms. Hugs, mama.

The same thing happened to my friend, she went into preterm labor at 30 weeks and we were all praying the baby would stay put and then once she was off bedrest and it was ok for him to come out he stayed put past her due date!

I really hope she comes out before your mom has to leave so you at least have family there during your labor.

Hey, something similar happened to me -- but I was 100% effaced and 6 cm dilated when I went into the hospital in labor. My water broke from lots of walking... but even when I was in labor, my ctx were 10 minutes apart throughout the whole thing. Sending labor vibes your way!

Hannah, make your mommy and us proud and come out with a loud wail. Don't worry about being noisy. Mommy just wants to see you.

It seems as though Miss Hannah just wants to have the element of surprise on her side :) I'm sure it's frustrating. Hang in there, Amy! I'm sure we'll be reading her wonderful birth story and seeing her beautiful face soon.

Come on out Hannah!!!! :) We want to meet you!

I'm sorry you are having a lot of discomfort...but hopefully your baby will be here very soon. I think it is awesome you are 6cm already! I was 3cm dilated and very effaced 3 days before I went into labor w/ DS...I always wonder if that is part of the reason I had an awesome and easy delivery :) I'm sure it is frustrating to not be holding Hannah in your arms yet, but she'll be there very soon!! :) Your body has already done so much work...once you get started, I'll bet she'll be born quickly :)

I think the idea to have your mom prep some meals for you is a great idea, or maybe even just do some shopping for you at Costco, etc. to pick up some easy-to-heat up meals for you.

Sending easy labor vibes your way and hoping that Hannah makes her arrival very soon :) What a great job you've done keeping her in there...she doesn't want to come out since it is so cozy in there ;)
