Two days ago I noticed a small red pimple-looking bug bite on DS's left buttock. It doesn't look any worse nor better so I thought I'd talk to the pedi or nurse. They suggested I come in so the pedi could look at it and make sure it wasn't infected. Before we left the house I found another bug bite but this one is on the right side. This one is a red bump with a white center (teeny spot).
Pedi looked at both bites and explained that since they were both within the diaper area they might get infected. He prescribed a topical antibiotic and an oral antibiotic for 7 days. I understand his concern but I rather find a natural way to heal them. Oh, he said he thinks they're fire ant bites.
I stopped by the Health Food Store and they suggested I try something called Neem oil.
Any suggestions?
