I did a search and I didn't find any recent discussions on sunscreen, so I am wondering if there are any new ones out there that I should know about. I have to pick some up for DD for a trip this weekend and I don't know which one to get. I am a total wacko about the sun and we can't hide in the sun cabana all summer ;)

Which one is your favorite overall?

DD has sensitive skin --- what are your favorites for that?

TIA!!!!

My DD is fair and has sensitive skin. We've been using Neutrogena for Senitive Skin and we haven't had any issues with it. I'm a bit on the wacky side about the sun as well, so I also put a sunhat on her! HTH

I recently found a site called skin deep and it lists the chemical safty of alot of cosmetic products. It has a sunscreen section too. http://www.ewg.org/reports/skindeep/search.php?nperpage=10&stype=brands&category=Sunscreen%2FTanning+Oil&sort=&showall=1

We use California Baby sunscreen. It's the only thing that doesn't bother ds and dd's face.

I've always used Neutrogena sensitive skin for my DD. We initally tried one of those formulated for baby ones but it gave her a rash.

We also use California Baby - I like that it isn't a chemical sunscreen and that it has a low score (lower is better) on the skindeep website mentioned above.

I like Baby Blanket which uses titanium dioxide for protection. I get it at TRU.

We use Baby Blanket as well. DS has sensitive skin and has had no problems with it at all. I wanted something with Titanium Dioxide (a barrier sunscreen rather than a chemical one) that was PABA free.

We tried sooooo many with DD. Funny thing is, the one that caused the least reaction in her was the Coppertone Waterbabies. I was totally expecting that one to cause the most reaction (she gets a rash, then a chemical-like burn).

I might venture to try the new Aveeno baby sunscreen this summer. Not sure if I'm willing to risk it with her or not.

Anyone use the California Baby 30SPF with bug blend? If so how does it work for bugs and sun? Is it super stinky since it has citronella in it?

thanks!

I love the skin deep database, too!! :)

I recently bought some Keys Soap Solar RX SPF 30+ Therapeutic Sunblock, based on it's rating per the database. Have used it on DD & myself and really like it. It's definitely more expensive than most other types, but I feel better about it.

Also, the Keys Soap Tortuga lotion is amazing face lotion!

Hope this helps.

We love Durascreen SPF 30 with titanium dioxide. My DS has sensitive skin and we've been using it since he was 5 months old and he's has never had a reaction or gotten burned, and we've been out in the sun quite a bit. I get it through a pharmacy (no prescription needed).

When I googled it, I didn't find anywhere that you could buy it! I am missing something?
