View Full Version : banishing age spots?

Ever since my son was born I've had this blotch on my right cheek. I'm extremely pale & have been wearing sunscreen pretty much daily since high school as I burn at the drop of a hat. This blotch seemed to come out of nowhere & has not faded, darkened or grown. It just sits there, a splash of color on my skin, not raised or anything. I was 38 when it made it's appearance & I just put it down to just another preggo hormone side effect. Since it has remained unchanged & basically looks like a light liver spot (eeew) I didn't think that it warranted a trip to the dermatologist.

Can anyone suggest a cream for fading this sort of thing? Or are those creams all snake oil? And maybe I should get my leathery butt to the dermatologist just to play it safe?

Thanks in advance,

Nina

Can you PLEASE go to a dermatologist just in case? My Mil had a similar spot and it turned out to be cancer...DON'T GET NERVOUS, it was an extremely curable kind with very low incidence of recurrence. But you must get it checked out to be safe. And then the dermatologist can tell you what to use on it if it's just an age spot!

I would say first go get it checked out by a dermatologist. If it is an age spot Mary Kay will be coming out with a new fading fluid in the next quarter. I believe it will be available in the next month or two (I need to check for sure). My sister also sells Mary Kay and actually has the time to go to meetings and said it looks really cool. She was very excited about it since she HATES her freckles.
Might be somthing worth looking in to after you get it checked.

Sorry to revive this thread, but my MK consultant just told me that this stuff, called MK Even Complextion Essence will be available to consultants on 6/16. She sent me some info on it that I can forward to anyone that's interested! Yay!! As a HUGE MK fan, I can't wait to try this!!!

Karoly,

I am actually glad you revived this thread (I didn't look at it the first time), as I too have a spot that has been on my cheek for quite a while which I have not seen a doc about. Being very fair skinned and having burned a lot, I am now a bit anxious about it. Time to get a referral for a derm.

Didn't see this the first time around.

I had a red spot on my chin that appeared right after my son was born. It looked kind of like a pimple, but never went away.

Went to the doc after 4 months, and found out it was skin cancer!

Get those spots checked out, ladies.

I am really excited about this product! My sales director sent me a sample she had received to demo in one of my classes. I already took 5 pre orders for it! Apparently people really wanted something like this and hate age spots and freckles. I do think it is always best to get checked by a dermatolagist first but it is nice to have something like this out there.
