We went to a 30th birthday party recently and it was a huge hit. There weren't any kids though.

There will be kids 1 yr to 14 yrs at DD's birthday party. Since I will be borrowing the fountain, I wanted to see if anyone's was destroyed and if it was worth the hassle. :)

I got one for Christmas and it is lots of fun. The only thing I hate about it is that is it hard to clean.

The only thing I would caution is that it is a huge mess. Whatever tablecloth you have on the top where the fountain sits could get ruined. And kids will likely have chocolate all over their clothes. So maybe warn people in advance to bring an old t-shirt or something to use as a coverup.

But I do agree, they are tons of fun and super yummy!

Well, I am telling everyone to bring suits for the kids (going to set up a sprikler/sprayer thing so I guess I will just add to the bathing suit clause that they need to not wear really nice clothes.)

No worries about the tablecloth, we have Blue's Clues paper tablecloths!! Easy to throw away. :)

Apparently hers is dishwasher safe, so hopefully that will help with the cleaning problem. I am sort of used to it though since I do so much choclate molding anyway.

An alternative might be to just make Blue's Clue chocolate pops. Hmm, I will think it over.

Thanks!!!

We went to a 1st birthday party about a month ago where they had a chocolate fountain (the party was kids and adults both). the kids all wanted to run their fingers through the chocolate and one kid kept dipping his fingers into the "bowl" at the bottom and then licking it off. I thought that was pretty gross.
