Which should I try to get tickets for...which should I avoid?

We LOVE Chef Mickey's. It's in the Contemporary, so you don't have to use a park ticket (we eat there on our non-park days.) DH and I enjoyed it before DC. They have breakfast and dinner. It is loud and noisey and crazy, but there is A LOT of one on one character interaction. (The characters even hung out with DH and I quite a bit.) Chip and Dale stole a mom and dad's seat at the table next to us and ate with the kids for a good 5 minutes. We are excited to take DD to eat there in September! The menu isn't fantastic, but there are a wide variety of choices and there is a dessert/sundae bar!!! Here is a link to the menu.

We've eaten at Chef Mickey's (loved it!) which is a buffet and the Garden Grille in Epcot, which is a nice break from the park and the restaurant turns trhough some of THE LAND ride. This lunch is served family style.

1900 park Fare at the Grand Floridian is also nice (though I think only a character dinner).

Polynesian also has a character breakfast which is supposed to be good.

Make sure to make a reservation for a time BEFORE you want to eat as there is often a wait even with a reservation

DS LOVED the character breakfast at the Polynesian - they even pulled all the kids into a parade around the dining room with the characters, and our normally shy child raced to get in line!

Have fun!

We were not fans of Chef Mickey (at the contemporary), mainly because the food was terrible. They also "lost" our reservation and made us wait for almost an hour and a half for a table (almost causing us to miss the last monorail back to the MK). However, we went before dd (yes, we're dorks) and I recall them having a "kid section" of the buffet with things like pizza, chicken nuggets, and mac and cheese. So maybe if you're a kid, it's fine.

Our favorite was actually in the Magic Kingdom itself, but I can't think of the name of the place which is driving me nuts. (Not the one in the castle). We went for lunch. I think they had mostly Winnie the Pooh characters, and since it was a much smaller venue than Chef Mickey everyone got a lot of one on one time without having to wait so long. If you go there for Breakfast, they let you into the park early.
I'll have to come update when I think of the name as this is not helpful.

Also, check out which characters will be where. If your dc would rather meet Mickey over Cinderalla, that might give you a heads up.

I think you are thinking of the Crystal Palace. It is a buffet with the Winnie the Pooh Characters, but it is not in the castle. I felt the food was pretty good actually.

We went for our honeymoon and had breakfast with them it was a lot of fun. :)

Have fun Julie!!

THAT"S IT!
And yes, I liked the food very much. And it was also (at least when I went) cheaper than chef mickey, which I did not like anyway.

If you're a morning person, a great tip is that you can make a ressie at character breakfasts inside the parks starting at 8:00 am, even if the park opens later. This last trip we ate at the Crystal Palace at 8:00 am and were waiting at the ropes in Fantasyland when the park opened at 9:00 am. We were the first in Tinkerbell's shop so we got to wake her up and then DD was able to ride Dumbo and the carosel several times without waiting on any lines.

Breakfast at the Castle is a very special treat. Our reservations were for before the park opened, so we had special early admission and were driven down Main Street in the fire truck. While we waited for our table, we sat downstairs with Fairy Godmother.

We also loved Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom where Pooh and the Hundred Acre Woods gang came by three times to see us and we got all silly over the Lady and the Tramp water fountain. And the food and characters at the Land Pavillion at Epcot were also great. Chip and Dale spent 20 minutes sitting with us, flirting with our girls.

I know all of my little gang would highly recommend all three of those.

How fun!

Did you get the wedding ears too? DH loved his top hat with ears and my veil with ears were soooo fun!!

We had a blast except I was sick. Blah. Stressed myself out over the wedding and could barely say "I do" loud enough for the priest to hear.

Anyway!! LOL, it was the perfect place for us to go.
