So last night DD decided she's going to sleep w/o a diaper (she's done that successfully a few times already). She woke up wet and crying. When I was changing her bed I found out that her mattress pad is NOT WATERPROOF!!! damn.

Now her mattress stinks of urine. What do I do?

Thanks,

No personal experience, but lots of the mamas here have recommended the stuff you get at the pet store. Maybe another mama can chime in with the name of the product.

I think the stuff from the pet store is Nature's Miracle. It breaks down the enzymes of the urine (I think). It works pretty well. Don't know if that would solve everything though. You can find it in any pet store in the cleaning aisle.

Yes, it's Nature's Miracle. The problem is that the urine has soaked into the mattress. So you'd have to let Nature's Miracle soak into the mattress as well, hoping that it got all of the stuff. Assuming that worked, I would then leave the mattress in the hot sun for a day or two to make sure it was completely dried out.
