Well, today I noticed that the grass really needed to be cut (we've gotten a lot of rain in the last few days). DH is on call tonight and we are going away for the weekend. I haven't mowed a lawn since high school and never do this kind of thing because I have chronic fatigue syndrome and have to be careful not to do too much. But my husband hates mowing the lawn and it would be awful if we waited until Monday. Anyway, Linnea and Amelia were both up and wanting attention so I put Linnea in a Mei Tai (baby carrier) on my back and took Amelia out with me (she played on the swingset) and mowed the entire lawn front and back (which is good sized by the way). I am so proud of myself. Linnea slept through the whole thing. Anyway, I just had to tell someone because it's a really big deal to me to be able to accomplish something like this. Thanks for letting me share my moment.

Wow, that's awesome! Well, last week, before the rain, DH managed to get the front lawn mowed, plus the hedges trimmed. But alas, the back is still waiting to be cut. And of course, he won't let me near any major power tools right now, so I get the feeling it's going to be calf-high by the time we get back from vacation. :)

You go super woman! And wow, with a baby on your back, no less! That is truly impressive! Ride your high! :)

Wow! Well, I am in awe of you. I've never mowed a lawm in my life and I intend to keep it that way. DH is always teasing me and saying I could mow it when it gets too high. I'll be sure to never tell him about your accomplishment...he might get some ideas in his head.

ROTFL. I doubt it will become a regular occurence, but maybe I should have thought through this a little more before doing it. DH might decide he wants me to do it on a regular basis. :D

I'm impressed! Good for you. Now don't let this get out to my husband because he might expect me to mow too and I can tell you that ain't gonna happen!! ;)

You rock! There is no way I'd attempt (or even have half the energy) to get a lawn mown with two kiddos, even though I am the resident lawn mower in our house...I'm just very particular about the diagonal pattern. I told DH he now has to get me a self-propelled lawn mower so I can do it when I get pg again. But of course, all bets are off when a babe arrives. You ARE superwoman!

Wow! Good for you. DH just mowed yesterday for the first time this spring. Needless to say it was getting a little high!
Go superwoman go! Do you have an invisible jet? I always wanted to ride in that. ;)

Excellent! I know it must feel good to contribute to the household in this way.

Having the courage to make this happen with the two kiddos is especially commendable!

A few weeks ago, my son and I washed my car. We usually have the car washed, which adds up. I felt great about saving money and felt especially proud when people complemented the car.
