I finally ordered a replacement iPod for my 1st gen one that died several months ago.

So, if you're a country music fan what's the hottest new songs? I love country (new stuff!).

TIA!

I'm absolutely in love with the new Rascal Flatt's song: What Hurts the Most. It's been #1 for a while now.

Some other good cuts from the new Rascal Flatts CD are 'Stand' and 'Backwards'. I kinda like Miranda Lambert's 'Kerosene' and Brad Paisley's 'The World'. And the Dixie Chicks have just released a new song, 'Not Ready to Make Nice' (haven't heard it yet myself, though). There are many good cuts on the Little Big Town 'The Road To Here' CD.
Nice to see some other country music fans around! I don't know too many IRL. :-)

Keep it coming. I need a list of country music that is NOT borderline pop music or radio hit %^&%^%!. I need to check out this Rascal Flatts I guess? I hear some stuff I like on the radio but I hear a lot that does not even sound like country and so I give up and just home and listen to Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson when I need a country fix...

Thanks for the suggestions, downloaded those too!

I'm in the NY Metro area and we haven't had a country music station for several years :-( I always loved having a loaner car just for the sat radio they had in it LOL! I grew up w/ country and still prefer it, though lately i've been listening to (and enjoying) WKTU which is mostly dance music, hip hop, etc. Quite a wide variety we listen to around here!

I'm not a HUGE country fan, but I *love* Miranda Lambert's "Kerosene". She has a great voice. Also I like her "Baby, Bring Me Down" which is on the same album. Have fun with your IPod! :)

Not exactly country but worth a listen.

There's a new radio station near us that plays "New Grass" :D, new Blue Grass. They have a constant live stream on the net. You might find some songs you love by having it play while you're browsing the BBB.

Click on upper right corner "click here to listen in"

(some of it leans toward country depending on the dj of the hour)

Okay, our favorite country artists are Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, and Sugarland. Now, song titles I'm not so good at, but we actually love pretty much all of the songs on those artist's recent CD's. Sorry this isn't more specific. I know on the Apple i-Tunes you can look them up by artist, and then listen to clips from different albums. Maybe try that? :)

I don't know how new all of these are, but here are a few country tunes from my iPod (disclaimer: the sap factor is pretty high in most of these ... I don't like sappy non-country songs, but it seems like most of my country choices are on the sappy end)

Keith Urban:
- Making Memories of Us
- Somebody Like You

Rascal Flatts:
- Bless the Broken Road
- Skin
- This Everyday Love
- Moving On

Tim McGraw
- Live Like You Were Dying

Hmmmm...thought I had more country on the iPod...I'll check my iTunes later to see what I haven't transfered to my iPod (it's been sitting in the Bose Dock or in one of our cars for a while and I haven't hooked it up to my PC in a while).

New is fine. I am just talking about the same 8 songs that seem to be played on a loop on the Seattle area county stations. Gets tiresome. I am assuming that there are more than 8 "new" county songs;)

"You Can't Go Home" by Jennifer Nettles with Jon Bon Jovi. Genre cross over yes, but I'm a Bon Jovi fan too.

Also love love "Believe" by Brooks & Dunn but it's been out a while now.

Keith Urban has a new one, "Tonight I'm Going to Cry" (or something like that) that's all over the radio right now.

OT - Dixie Chicks new song is being played here (San Jose, CA) but apparently there was controversy over that decision (although I wonder if the djs played that up to generate controversy). When I lived in Texas (2003/2004) there was one country station that would play the Chicks and one that wouldn't.
