Sorry! I thought I posted an update last night..huh.

We went to the Ped yesterday (that was fun, me alone with the two kids, I survived, but geez louise!) She looked at his nose and said his septum and anatomy looked fine, she didn't see any evidence of a head injury but suggested his may have hit himself in the nose?? He does swing his arms quite a bit and connection does occur. I just can't believe he hit himself hard enough to give himself a bloody nose. She said that since it is still a little dry around here it is possible that contributed. So I am going to start spraying saline into his nise every once and a while and pull the humidifier out again. (I just packed it up last weekend, blech. )
So in all he is o.k.!
___
O.k. I called and she called back pretty quickly. Which causes me to worry (usually it takes a couple of hours), along with the news that she would like me to bring him in tomorrow. I am just really worried about him, it hasn't happened again. She said that 8 weeks is too young to have a nose bleed so she wants to look at him.

Geez...now I get to spend all night worrying. Hopefully he is o.k.
At least she didn't tell me to go to the emergency room.

___
I got it to stop, but I am upset because I can't find anything about babies and bloody noses.

I just put DD down for her nap, I was gone from him for 5 minutes, during which DS woke up and started crying. He was crying pretty hard, but nothing unusual, he probably cried for 2 or 3 minutes at the most. Maybe he hit himself, should I call our Ped??

ETD: My usage of the word freak was bothering me.

how much bleeding is it? DD had a bloody nose that freaked me out when she was like 5 or 6 months old and it turned out to be dryness in her nose. Maybe that is it?

It appeared to be about a 1/2 teaspoon. Looks like a lot but in the grand scheme of things really isn't. He might be dry....I think I will pull the humidifier back out.

you can try that and you can also use a nasal aspirator (bulb syringe) to squirt some salt water up his nose. that's what our ped told us to do when this happened. Good luck. Rough day for you, mama!

Christy,

I hope Jarred is okay. I hope it's just the dry spring air with the change of seasons. You're in my thoughts. I hope it all goes well tomorrow.

Well, you have quite the little slugger (and a cute story to tell him when he's older)! I'm so happy that everything is okay!

So glad you got good news. I'll bet his daddy's proud of that arm. :P

Was this your first outing just the three of you? It's quite the adventure, huh? :) I'm looking for a double stroller now. Was going to try to get away without one but I give up... :P

Yes, it was my first outing with the two of them by myself. I know now we have to get one too. I am trying to decide between the Schwinn, InStep or Safeguard. I want a Mountain Buggy but that isn't happening. :)
