Just plain Eucerin cream works best for both of my kids. We have Aquaphor, Elidel and steroid creams too but we've had the best luck with the tub of Eucerin. Also I keep one of those moisturizing sticks (we have the Grins and Giggles)in my diaper bag for when we're out and DD needs it.

you have probably tried this, but have you changed the soap she uses and the detergent you use? Even some of the "baby" detergents can irritate certain babies. You may just need to find the one that works. How old is your DD? Is she eating solids?

We liked the aveeno cream for every day and aquaphor for trouble spots. I agree with you about hating to use the steroid cream we only used it once and I was glad we didn't have to use it more than that.

I posed a similar question and got some great suggestions. I've found that different things work for different kids, so it helps to experiment. Here is the link:

I hope you find relief for your DD soon!

Baby Aveeno lotion worked on my son's cheeks. It all went away in about 2 months. There is hope!!!

The allergist told us to use fragrance-free/dye-free detergent and to double-rinse her clothes and bedding. We also found some fragrance-free, dye-free "Cradle Cap" shampoo at BRU that works very well. The J&J baby wash was making DD's rash worse, even though it says hypoallergenic on the label.

For really bad times, we used Elidel (and DD was 11 months when we started) but with all the FDA warnings, we used it sparingly and for only as few days as it took to clear things up. Since switching to the cradle cap shampoo, she hasn't needed Elidel.

We slather her in regular Vaseline after every bath. We call her the Greased Piggy! :)

Keeping DD on her elimination diet (she's sensitive to dairy and eggs, and previously wheat) has also helped the eczema. Now that she's 2, she takes Claritin Reditabs when the itchiness is bad. You'd have to talk to your doctor about that, since the Claritin label says it's for kids 6 and older.
