Extreme Home Makeover is taping nearby ETA Pics!

We learned yesterday that Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is doing a house in the next town over, a few blocks from my mom.

We decided to take a walk down there today and despite the horrendous traffic/closures (it's on a very main street through town which is now closed for the week) it's SO awesome to be so close to something like that.

Even more fun was this: the dump trucks were waiting to start hauling the debris away so as DS & I were looking at one of the trucks the operator lifted the bed up, down, up again, etc. Not sure who enjoyed that more ~ myself or DS! Then while walking back there was a HUGE (500 or so) convoy of motorcycles (not related to the show) so we stopped for awhile to watch...and watch...and watch. They got jammed on a side road for a bit; we walked down and just stood on the sidewalk as they went by. So many of the drivers waved to DS, said "hi buddy!" etc.

What a fun afternoon! I read today that the episode will air on 5/28

We went down both Saturday and Sunday; DH will go back Monday during the day. I might be able to get back there on Wed night. I haven't seen Ty at all and heard that he's actually in LA this week, so who knows.

It's a huge traffic nightmare for the residents on several surrounding blocks - but it's oh so cool!!

My dh was interviewed for tonight's episode, and he and several of his colleagues were filmed at work . But, alas, they didn't use ANY of the three hours of footage they shot and barely mentioned the EMT kid. ; (
Too bad, my dh was really looking forward to his 3 seconds of fame, lol.

DH was talking to our neighbor who is a cop in that town - he's doing extra work helping with traffic and stuff there.

I don't usually watch the show these days (watching West Wing) but I know they just did a house in Irvington a few weeks ago, so I guess they did this one next.
