I want to hang a clothes line in my backyard, but I have no idea what kind of wire to use. or is it twine? string?

What material should I use?

This is kind of hard to say without sounding snarky, but you use clothes line, usually. They sell it at the hardware store.

Yep you can usually buy little packages that come labelled as 'clothesline' in just about any hardware store or even wal-mart. My guess would be in with the clothes hangers/storage.

If you get a metal wire, make sure it is coated with plastic so it won't mark the clothes.

We got a retractable clothesline, and I love it! It just rolls back up when you're done. You have to have something to attach it to, and another pole or something with a hook where it will hook on. We got it at Home Depot a few years ago. Just another idea!

Cool, thanks! I see a trip to Home Depot in my future.

Martha Stewart for K-Mart also makes a retactable clothes line and it comes with all the mounting hardware. I remember it being cheap too.

GL. I don't have a clothes line but my MIL does and I love the way her air-dried sheets smell.
