I couldn't find one at my local LNT so I bought a 5-opening frame at Kohls. With the Kohls frame, all five openings are hinged together:

For those who have already taken the pictures - what size letters did you use? I could only find letters that measured 2wx6H. Not sure if they will show up as predominant as I would want them to be.

Any thoughts?

I've seen the hinged 5 opening frames in Kohls and AC Moore. Alot of times they are 50% off in each store.

I was going to say Kohl's, as well. Though we did ours for Valentine's Day so it's been a few months.

As for letter size, I would imagine it depends upon the size of your child! I bought the big ones from Michael's and painted them white.

do they make them w/4x6 openings? These are only 2x3.

I searched ACMoore the other day and couldn't find any :-(

I found a frame for a panoramic photo (4X12) at JoAnns. It obviously doesn't have matting, but I figure I can photoshop something together. My JoAnn's has a bunch of frames on clearance and the rest I think were 40% or 50% off depending on if it was a wall or desk frame.

I just wanted to mention IKEA had the 5 opening frames as well for 19.99. You have the choice of either wooden or stainless frame. The openings are the larger 5x7 size I think.

Our Michels had 9" letters, which are probably 5" wide? But, not all of them have them. I know someone else that tried to find them in another city and couldn't.

Ok, I do this for many things now... Thank you cards (T H A N K Y O U), Mother's Day,... some I frame and other's I link together with ribbon.

I did not buy letters, I use our favorite pictures!

Thanks to the free photo software I have I do the following with our favorite pictures....
Make the picture black and white
Add a Letter in color randomly on the picture (where it fits best)
I use various fonts, colors and sizes

I'd show you and end product, but the GRANDMA GRANDPA one I just did (2 rows of 8 opennings, frame I found at Michaels) I forgot to take a picture of.

If you don't understand, just let me know.

At LNT I got my DADDY frame last year. I printed the pictures as Portrait in a Wallet size and it was grand.

If you can't find 5 opennings, you could just do DAD.

I just want to thank you mommas for the idea. I just finished putting together my 'daddy' photos of the twins, one frame for each, and I love it. Okay, my photos aren't the greatest but I do think DH will love them. I tried to take photos outside twice but each time DSx2 were more interested in running around...go figure...so I took them inside where it was cool.

LNT had a bunch of the 5 photo frames available, wish I had a coupon, each was $30. Oh well, that's what happens when I procrastinate!

Thanks again!

Hey Jen, would you mind posting an example so I can see what you're talking about?

Thanks!
