Congratulations! I know it has to be very scary.

It was very difficult for me to enjoy my pregnancy after adoption losses and that was *just* adoption losses. But the one thing I do regret is that I was not able to enjoy my pregnancy more (although that is the kind of person I am). Someone told me that no one could take away how happy I was feeling at a particular moment, no matter what happened. And that's true.

I hope you are able to enjoy this pregnancy as much as possible. And wishing you and your family a safe, happy, and healthy few months and years!

Well, thanks all! You sure know how to make a girl feel good. :)

To answer a few questions:

No, we haven't told Sarah yet, and I'm not sure when we will. With Leah, we waited until the Level 2 ultrasound, and we may do that again. Honestly, I'm not looking forward to telling her and the 1001 questions that will ensue. But it is definitely harder keeping a pregnancy a secret from an almost 5 year old than it was from a 3 year old.

The pregnancy has been a bit rocky too. I had horrible morning sickness, by far the worst I've ever had with a pregnancy, and it really made me feel wretched. I had a heavy spotting episode at 7 weeks followed by a VERY heavy bleeding episode at 9 weeks. The OB thinks it was a small subchorionic bleed and that it will resolve, but it was really, really scary. I was positive I had lost the baby and was astounded to see the heartbeat the next morning on the ultrasound.

I have a nuchal translucency scan tomorrow and thats making me a little nervous too. Being older I have a few more fears this time than before. I really want to avoid an amnio so I'm hoping the NT scan goes well.

We decided this time to deliver at the hospital closest to my home which has a state of the art Level 3 NICU (since we are planning an early delivery) and that meant I had to find a new OB, and that was a little stressful.

So, all in all, its been a rough first 12 weeks. And then after the second trimester, we have to be concerned about the very real possibility of re-rupture, although as long as we deliver before 38 weeks, they aren't terribly concerned.
