Sometime last year, in a thread about mommy bracelets, etc., I mentioned a necklace I saw on DH's cousin had with charms for each of her GBG triplets. It was different than any mommy jewelry I had seen before and I really liked it. Well, DH remembered that I admired it and came through for Mother's Day. :) I can't find anything like it online, but I am attaching some pics. (Sorry for the poor quality, I was having some trouble getting close w/o getting blurry.)

DH contacted his aunt and got in touch with the jewelry store in NJ where his cousin got her necklace. He ordered my necklace and charms over the phone and had it engraved locally with our kids names and birthdates on the back of each charm. Each charm is roughly the size of a quarter. They are sterling with enameled designs (kid outfits) on the front with a plain back suitable for engraving. DH said that there were a few options to choose from (different outfits) for boy and girl charms. IIRC, his cousin either had a sailor suit or a sailor dress for one of her charms. I think DH said the overalls were also available in red and blue. I think I would have preferred either a sailor suit or red/ blue overalls for DS's charm, but I won't complain since DH did this on his own. :)

If anyone is interested, the jewelry store is called F. Gerald New, Inc. Jewelers and I think DH said that the receipt indicates they have shops in Chatham and either Madison or Morristown, NJ. (He's not home right now for me to ask.) I Googled them and found this contact info for the Chatham store:
F. Gerald New Inc.
Lila Reynolds
180 Main St.
Chatham, NJ 7928

Just thought I would share in case anyone is looking for a different kind of mommy jewelry.

Oh yeah, the necklace hits me right below my clavicle and the charms can be moved around. The necklace closes with two clasps like lobster clasps without the stem. I've got the charms stacked, but you could also hook each to a link in the necklace. I don't know the cost since it was a gift.

Last thing-- DH said the saleswoman was very nice and told him that they have doggy charms too. :)

HTH someone in search of some mommy jewelry!

How funny, I *just* read your post from last year the other day! I was so intrigued by the necklace you were describing. The necklace is beautiful!

Thanks. DH did a good job. :) I just went back and found my post from last year. I guess I had remembered DH's cousin's necklace wrong and thought there was a solid color background behind the outfit on each charm. She lives in NJ and I live in VA and only saw her wearing the necklace once.
