What counts as young? Ethan is almost seven months now, zoiks, but he's so cute these days that I had to chime in anyway. He's crawling and starting to pull up on things and is such a love. He and Abby are crazy about each other, which is pretty much the greatest thing I've ever seen in my life.

We're in a tough stretch now with reflux and food allergies with him, which is hard in all kinds of ways. I'm tired and frustrated and worried-- he was doing perfectly well until a month ago and now is really having a hard time. Abby went through hell with this stuff, so it freaks me completely out to see it happening to him. But this time I at least knew what I was looking at, so I got started with treatment sooner.

Anyway, here's my beloved, crawling over his sister:

We're doing well. We're still in the early phase where the baby sleeps, eats, and poops :P . I know this won't last long. It's so wonderful to love and hold a little baby. You really forget how tiny they are. I hate to gush and say anything about how good DD has been so far as I don't want to jinx myself.

Noah is a great big brother. So far he has been extremely gentle and loving with the baby. He is very proud of her and likes to kiss her little hands and feet. He refers to her as "baby sister". He hasn't been as gentle with me, unfortunetly. We've had a few "incidents" the last couple of days where I think he is acting out to get attention. This morning he took off his diaper and peed on the floor. Sigh. I'm just trying to keep it low-key, not make a big deal out of anything, and to make sure he gets one-on-one attention everyday. We're tandem nursing which I will say makes things a heck of a lot easier. It calms all of us down.

I'm doing pretty good. Things seem to be a little easier this time around perhaps because I know what to expect. I had a natural childbirth and my body bounced back much faster than it did with Noah's birth. A friend came by today to visit and she dropped off a basket of healthy snacks (crackers, hummus, fruit, applesauce etc.) and it was great. A few other friends are doing a meal train for us. So all in all, we're happy and healthy :)

Thanks for asking.

Rachel and Angie, so cute!

This is a bit of a late announcement, but life got hectic.

Sebastian Carroll and Tillman James were born on March 29th at 3090 and 2800 grams respectively. The birth was much harder than we had anticipated because I developed a severe case of preeclampsia in the last week (39 weeks with twins!!) and the doctors had some concern about a blood clot in one of my legs. That, combined with Tillman 's heartrate dropping with each contraction was enough to nesscitate an emergency c-section. But, while it certainly didn't go as we wanted, we walked home with two healthy baby boys and a (relatively) healthy Mama--and that is what counts.

I'm nursing them both which has presented its own host of challenges and troubles, inlcuding a CT test which meant no nursing for 48 hours, a 5 day hospital stay for a lung infection (they admitted all three of us!), a series of plugged ducts and no freetime needed to eat the copius amounts of food I need to consume to sustain these two growing boys! Double nursing has taken some getting used to, but we're starting to figure it out.

Dante is an amazing older brother who lives for these two boys. He is helpful and cuddly; and saves any "aggression" for his parents. Both boys are==most days--relatively easy. In fact, they are easy enough that it makes me realize how high needs Dante was in the beginning. We're just now entering the fun part where they smile and react when I, DH, Dante or the cat walks into the room. Nighttime has its ups and downs, but we're surviving.

All in all it's been a wild ride adn keeps getting wilder. It's crazy how much and how quickly your heart can open to let in these two new lives, and how little your mind can remember of a time they were'n't there.

Max is growing like a weed - 75th percentile for weight and height, which confounds his small parents. His newest trick is laughing - he's got a great little low chuckle. Anyway, I'm really just posting to show off one of my favorite pics of him. Yes, it's all blurry. That's because my boy is always moving, from the minute he wakes up (when this pic was taken) till the minute he goes to sleep at night.

Kate is three weeks today. She is just a little smidge of a baby not even 6 1/2 lbs yet. At first I thought I was experiencing PPD but now realize I am just tired. Nick is very sweet with his sister he calls her "gack". However, he wants a bottle everytime the baby gets one and now absolutely refuses to drink out of a sippie cup. ( and it took us a long time to initially get him to drink from anything but a bottle). Wish I was ten years younger but , all in all, very happy and lucky. Thanks for asking about us all.

Thanks for asking. Katie is almost 11 weeks old now (about 6.5 weeks adjusted for prematurity) and is a smiling fool. Unfortunately, I have not captured lots of smiley pics yet since she smiles when I am in front of her being silly and gets a serious look when I pull up the camera. Oh well. She is still a peanut and weighed only 9 pounds, 11 ounces when she had her two-month checkup. Her big brother weighed more than that when he was born! And a good friend of ours had a baby girl this morning who weighed 9 pounds, 12 ounces. I guess my beautiful little girl is petite. :)

She LOVES to be held and talked to. Imagine that. I am a little worried about how she will do when I go back to work next Thursday, the 25th, when Katie is 12 weeks old. It will be really hard to leave her, but my mom and DH will take turns watching her the first few days until she starts daycare on June 1. She hasn't spent a lot of time in a swing or bouncy seat (and I haven't had two free hands since she was born) and I expect that the first few days of daycare may be rough since she can't be held all the time. I do love the infant room teachers (DS had them too) and I know they will take good care of her. I'll visit at lunchtime most days to nurse her too, since her daycare is very close to my office.

Big brother Sean wants to hug Katie all the time and tickle her feet. He has learned to me much more gentle than he was at first and we are really proud. He also likes to try to share things with her. It's very cute to watch.

Here is my sweet girl (a few weeks ago), with and without a hat so you can see all her hair.

Well, with all these cute pictures it looks like I'll have to upload some too!

Taryn is 4 months old today (ACK! when did that happen!). She just started taking naps yesterday... Very exciting, I know. She basically takes an hour nap, is up for an hour, hour nap, etc etc throughout most of the day. Pretty impossible for me to go anywhere during the day, but the weather's been so crappy here it doesn't really matter. She was a very "easy baby" up until about 10 weeks when she decided that was too boring ;). She went from sleeping 6 hours a night to waking at regular 2 hour intervals. It's been a little tough, with DH working so much and not really being able to help out as much and he (and I) wish.

She's been in the process of cutting her two lower teeth for practically a month now. There's just a t-h-i-n layer of gum over top of them. I can't wait til she gets those and starts chomping down on Mummy :).

She's really personable now (she didn't really start regularly smiling until about 3 months). But when you get her laughing, she WILL NOT STOP! Her favorite person in the world is Pops, my dad who lives across the street. She lights up the minute she sees him.

I promise to edit this with more pics later on today.

Solana is doing really well. She'll be 5 months old in 10 days. WOW!!! Time is flying.

She is super smiley and sweet. She ADORES her big brother. She watches every move he makes and gets so excited to see him. She is strong enough now to sit in the Bumbo and the Exersaucer. She's "discovered" her hands and feet and loves to gnaw on her fist. I think she might be getting a tooth.

She laughs like crazy (especially when I sing silly songs and *blush* beatbox to some old school rap songs). Yesterday, Santiago came over to tickle my feet while I was nursing her, and I started laughing which made her crack up. It was a sweet moment.

Santiago is tries his best to be gentle with her. He loves to baby talk with her. When she starts crying, he'll come and tell me that she's hungry. He has mellowed out alot over the last month or so. With each month that passes, he gets more and more attached to her and is more loving (with the hardest times being during the first and 2nd month after her birth).

You know the most amazing thing is that when I was pregnant I wondered how I could possibly love another child as much as I do my son. I wasn't sure if I could. Well, of course, now I can't imagine what life would have been like without her. It's amazing how the heart expands.

ETA: I can't get my pics to work. Will try again in the morning.

Baby Alice is 4 months old! She goes in for her 4-month check-up today. She is the sweetest, most precious baby! She loves ceiling fans, rolling around, and our walks in the stroller (she also loves napping on mommy, which she is doing right now!). And she adores Ellie. She lights up when she hears Ellie voice (which is um, all of the time, LOL) or sees her. Ellie loves Alice--or, as she says, "I love HIM so much!" LOL!

Well, like Rachel says, Dora is not a newbie anymore, but she's cute so I have to share. She's 7 1/2 months now (How did THAT happen?!), and getting to be a lot of fun. Not really crawling like Ethan, but she does a combo of rolling and the commando crawl when she wants something. I'm starting to see some of her personality now. When she's playing with a forbidden object and I take it away, she really gets mad, and won't be distracted by another object. Very determined, like her dad! We just discovered yesterday that she loves going on the swings, so I'll have to take her more often.

Except for constant worries about my supplies (read my many posts) she is a bf expert now. In side lying position she can roll away, then roll back and latch right now. She even tries to grab me and shove into her mouth. A little owie, but gets the job done. Now she loves her daddy and is always happy to see him come home!

Below is a pic from our trip to Joshua Tree and another by herself.

We have been very busy around here the last week. I've been in BBB withdrawl! LOL

I am still getting used to washing diapers every other day. I am really hoping that I will be blessed with an early potty trainer with Maddy. :)

Jarred is almost 10 weeks and slept through the night last night! I know it was a fluke, but it was beautiful to get 8 hours of sleep in a row. The Miracle Blanket IS a miracle some days.

Sibling relations are still good, Maddy has her moments when she wants to be held and Jarred is nursing. I do my best to accomodate. It is hard to manage two when they both want new diapers at the same time or both want fed at the same time, but thankfully those moments are rare. Maddy is not acting out any more than she did prior to Jarred's arrival. Jarred lights up when his sis decides to show him attention. It is so fun to see them interact. I am sure it will be even more fun when he gets a little older.

Here is a slighty off center, but still cute pic of my smiley guy!

We're doing very well! Logan is still nursing beautifully and is such an easy-going baby. He sleeps up to 10 hours straight at night (occasionally wakes once in that time period - no biggie). But he's really becoming a mama's boy. Everyone has been taking turns helping with Colin lately, but Logan usually is left with me, and it is showing. I don't mind one bit, but know that it will have to change in a few weeks when I go back to work (boo-hoo).

He's a big boy; was 24.25" and 13lbs 1oz at 2 months. 95th percentile and 90th percentile, I believe. We're sharing some of the wealth - I've already gone through the steps to become a breastmilk donor (I really wanted to do it with Colin but none of the banks had freezer space, or they were too far away).

Colin loves his baby brother to the ends of the earth. It is just so sweet to see him talking and singing to Logan. And Logan just laughs and laughs at him.

My separated pelvis is almost healed. There isn't much that I can't do, but I do get sore a little more easily than I used to. I just finished physical therapy, but have a list of home exercises to do. This is the one thing scaring me about having a third baby - will it happen again, and will I heal as quickly as I did this time? No one has been able to give me much info on this, so I guess that we'll find out if/when we decide to go for it!

Trying to post pics of my boys (since I can't attach photos any more here):

Both boys (Logan was about 3 weeks old):

All of the pictures are absolutely delicious! I wish I had one here to upload but alas I am at work.

Eli is 5 months old. He is smiling, giggling and rolling over. He sleeps from 10 PM to 6 AM :) We call him Mr. Smiley b/c he's just the happiest little peanut around. He's almost 16 lbs and got the cutest chubby cheeks. Eli is always staring at Jonah to see what he's doing. His two bottom teeth have broken the gum line and we're going to start rice cereal as soon as he feels better (see below).

Jonah loves his little brother and calls him "mylee" (traslated to smiley). The other day at day care the caregiver referred to Eli as baby. Jonah corrected her by saying "no baby it's Eli". He likes to point out where Eli's toes, fingers and tummy are. Whenever Eli cries he says "no cry Eli".

Unfortunately, both boys are really sick right now. Jonah has an ear infection and Eli has hand/foot/mouth disease, but only in his mouth. He's been so so so unhappy poor little guy. Thank G-d for my parents and their ability to watch the kids when we can't take them to daycare.

I'll try to add pictures soon. Thanks for starting this thread. Mostly thanks for sharing your children with us.

Mia will be 5 months in 11 days!!! Time if flying. The colic subsided at around around 4 months and she is getting so much better. She does demand alot of attention....so I guess she is just like her brother. :) She goes to bed early b/w 6-6:30 pm and wakes up once to eat and then goes back down until 6-6:30 am. The transition to two was tough esp. since Mia had colic and Diego is a high needs toddler w/ his SIDS and lang delay but we have seen Diego mature so much lately.....so things have definitely improved. :")

Thanks, Katie. I hope Jonathan is doing well. I passed by the aftermath of a terrible accident near Bel Air Market at around 12:30 and I was praying it wasn't the accident the baby at the ER was involved in.

That dress was a second-hand find at the Lollipop Shop (charity consignment sale that happens twice a year). I'm sure one of the Gymboree experts could tell me what year and what line it was, but I just thought it was too cute to pass up. :)

I was going to say the same thing as Rachel, "What counts at little?" I feel like Dd was just born, but according to my calendar she's already 8 months going on 8 years. She jumps into life with both feet and ready to take on the world. Crawling (and just figured out she can follow the elusive kitty when she runs off), Cruising, starting to stand unassisted, this girl is in a hurry to catch up with her adoring big brother.

She has her two bottom teeth and is ravenous to eat anything she can find, edible or not.

Things are not as hard as I had expected, knockonwood, (and I think I prepared for the worst) with two, but time does fly much more quickly than I thought.

I couldn't choose just one pic:

Angie - I love the photo of little Ruby in that soaker! It is so much fun to see another tiny one wear it. I think Dd may have just once before she outgrew it. I guess I forgot to mention, she was also *quite* the grower as well.

I am enjoying all of these sweet baby photos. I never thought I wanted more than two, and logic still tells me I don't, but oh my to hold a tiny one again. twinge! twinge!

It's hard for me to believe, but Elena will be 12 weeks old on Friday. We're doing well. She taught me all about breastfeeding and I'm trying to teach her about sleeping! :-) She usually sleeps for about 3 hours at a time, but every now and then she'll slip a 5 hour stretch in there.

I see so much of DH in her... both in her looks and in her emerging personality. She concentrates so completely on whatever she's doing. Sometimes we startle her when we start talking to her while she's in her play gym. I think she forgets the world beyond the arch exists!

I don't know the "official" info on pelvic separation, but I have a friend who had that happen with her first child and was just fine 23 months later with her 2nd. Hopefully, you'd have that experience!

I love the picture of both boys!

Aww what a sweet picture! And I agree--I can't believe he's already 7 months, zoiks! They definitely have the same eyes and smile, I think. Sorry you have to go through the digestive issues all over again, but as you said, you're much better prepared this time around (although I'm sure just as exhausted!). Big hugs, Rachel!

I love seeing everyone's pics. The babies are all so gorgeous :)

We are doing well here. As Angie said, we're still in the sleeping, eating and pooping stage. Benjamin is BF like a champ which leaves me a little sore sometimes. Nights are so-so, some are good and some not so good. We were on the fence about co-sleeping again but the past 2 nights have solidified our decision to do it. If Benjamin is in with us he will sleep for up to 3 hours, on his own maybe 1-1.5 hours yet during the day he will nap in his Moses basket with roaring dinosaurs or a screaming big brother right next to him without a peep.

Billy is adjusting well, he is becoming much more gentle and less "pokey". He loves showing Benjamin off to everyone and he wakes up in the morning and from his nap calling for Benjamin :) His favorite thing right now is to help wipe his bum during diaper changes and to help me burp him when he's done eating.

Here are some pics we took today

Oh Susan, I'm so glad that things are getting better. Sometimes I think tiredness is a permanent state for moms! And while I sometimes wish I was younger, most of the time, I'm really glad I'm not. :D

Okay, that first pic he looks like he knows a secret, LOL! I love the picture of the two of them together and I'm glad she's no longer acting out. I know it was rather stressful! As for diaper laundry--well, until just recently, I was washing them every 1.5 days or so, so I definitely know where you're coming from! I'm hoping Kaya does actually PT for days soon so that all I have to do is wash nap and night diapers.

And wow, 8 hours! Go, Jarred!!! Give your mama some more sleep!

ETA: By the way, Christy, Happy Birthday!!! May you get some sleep tonight as well!

I'm loving this thread! The pictures are all so cute.

DS will be 7 weeks old tomorrow. He occasionally will sleep 4 or 5 hours straight during the night, which is such a blessing for this sleep-deprived mama. After 2 weeks of struggling with breastfeeding, things are finally going relatively smoothly, except for a small stint with a plugged nipple pore last week (ouch!). My heart just melts when DS responds to my voice or touch with one of his smiles.

Here are a couple pictures -- one is a funny, unhappy baby picture, and one is a happy baby in his grandma's arms.

Thanks Tarah and Eileen!

I think Alice looks exactly like Ellie! It is uncanny! The only difference is that Alice slept through the night a lot earlier, LOL!

Here are the two together a couple of months ago (already sharing secrets :)):

Oh, thank you for asking, Alicia! :)

Someone here said some days work, some don't. That's the story of my life these days. DD's energy wears me out. I have to take her out *every single day*. She gets bored and I guess I don't blame her but I'm a major homebody so it's a bit of a struggle for me. She is a character, though. Has DH and me in stitches all the time.

But you asked about DS....sorry....
He's doing so well. He is SO strong. Must be that testosterone because I've been amazed at how much he's grown and how strong he is. He was 15.25# the week before he turned 3M in April. Need to get him weighed this week. He loves to smile and will crack up laughing just for mommy...melts my heart. He's a champion nurser and is sleeping pretty well. Not as well as DD did but I'm not complaining. He gets loved very well by his big sister. She loves to help with him, runs to him when he cries, and just today used him as a sticker canvas. It was very cute.

Anyway, thanks for asking. I've been really struggling with staying sane the last few weeks and have to remind myself that this time is so fleeting. One day soon, they'll both be grown so I need to enjoy these moments as they happen.

Thanks for allowing me to share. :)

Colin has grown up so much! I can't believe it! I adore the pic of him with Logan on his chest. That is positively precious.

Logan is just gorgeous. That round, perfect little face is so sweet. I love his sweater and booties too. Enjoy every minute with him.

Actually, they do take simultaneous naps. I think it's just the incessant work. It's just what I signed up for(a dream come true, really) but it still wears me out!

Thanks, though. :)

I am so happy to see all these updates!

Well, LB is 8 months old today and I can't believe how the time has passed so quickly. He is a happy boy, but a handful sometimes as I am still the only one who can get him back to "zero state" when he really goes off the deep end. It's frustrating and exhausting, as BB now notices when I am taking care of LB's needs and BB wants to play. There is no jealously, just disappointment on his end, which makes me sad. Thankfully, BB and I get time together each day that is just ours, so I hope that is enough to get us through this period.

LB is busy and curious. He's learned to sit up in the last month, his bottom front two teeth cut through within a week of each other, and his next step is learning to crawl or scoot - I'm not sure which he'll choose, as he hasn't made any advances in that direction yet. He's still taking meds for reflux, but I'm hopeful that that will end by his first birthday. In the past two weeks, he has been sleeping through the night (~11p to 6a), which he never did before, so I am finally getting some REM sleep - yahoo!

He's got a fantastic and ready smile and a contageous belly laugh - BB *LOVES* to "give him tickles, mommy"! They are really cute together. I can't believe how crazy I am about these two!

I'd love to be able to attach a pic, but the software is not letting me right now... I'll try again later.

ET to try to add picture...

Marco is 5 months now and such a delightful little baby. He has the brightest smile and the sweetest laugh and is such a beam of sunshine in our home. His big brothers adore him, especially Paolo, who is 5.

He is by far the most mellow of all three of my babies and just pure sweetness. He rarely cries - it's almost freaky! He still sleeps a lot but still wakes up once or twice each night to eat. I don't even mind, though, as that is one of the few moments each day that I get to spend alone with him.

I wish I could attach a picture but I can't seem to right now. He does not look very much like his brothers - who look very much alike - particularly because he has bluish green eyes and theirs are dark brown. Both dh and I have brown eyes and so does everyone in our families. We continue to be shocked by this! I will try to figure out how to post a picture soon.

It's good to hear all the updates on everyone's babies!
