Introducing Dex Jacob

Just wanted to let you all know that our new baby boy, Dex Jacob, was born yesterday morning, May 24th, at 10:45 AM. He is a big boy, weighing in at a whopping 10 lbs 3 oz and measuring 21 1/2 inches long. He bears a strong resemblance to his big brother (and therefore, his Daddy.)

I am so pleased I was able to have the natural, unmedicated birth I had hoped for. We had him at a local Birth Center and were able to take him home 12 hours after delivery.

He is nursing like a champ and is a generally happy baby. His big brother Luke got to meet him this morning and he couldn't be more thrilled (although he doesn't like it when Dex cries.)

I keep hoping that, too! Nothing yet. According to the non-stress test yesterday, I'm having contractions, but they only happened when the baby moved, so I'm not sure I believe they were contractions :).

Thank you so much everyone for your congrats and well wishes. We are doing well. Dex is a great baby. My milk is in and now he is a happy guy. Luke is being a sweet big brother...just have to teach him to control himself a bit so he doesn't hurt the little guy.
