A good friend is in the hospital recovering from major sugery. I plan to drop by a bag of get well goodies later today, but am rather stumped about what to bring. I already have a few magazines, but wanted to add a few other easy to tote items. Any ideas? She won't be home for a few more days.

Thanks!

Nice smelling lotion? If she's able to eat a normal diet, some fresh fruit? Or some hard candy or chocolates? Does she do crossword puzzles? A deck of cards?

That's all I can think of--what a nice friend you are!

Nice tea bags. If she was intubated, her throat is probably sore. It works if she's still on a clear liquid diet, and it smells good, gives that homey feeling. Pop them in a basket with a pretty mug, the magazines, and you should be good to go!

yummy lip gloss

trashy mags (although they all use the same pics so a little goes a long way)

a good book she won't be able to put down

and I think fresh flowers, however cliche, are always nice to have in a hospital room
