This one may be a bit tougher-

I'll give clues if asked!

Looks like some sort of racetrack, but I'm not sure where or if it would be for cars or horses. Doesn't look green enough for someplace like Churchill Downs.

Maybe the fairgrounds somehwere? It is awfully brown...it looks like the south after say mid-July. :)

Edited - bad clue.

Definitely not in the south. Think cooler.

Is it that place that the British Royal family head out to watch the races? I think it's called Ascot, but maybe I'm wrong...

Nope, it's in North America.

Hm, I was thinking Indianapolis Motor speedway, but I googled it and that isn't it. Still thinking.

It's definitely for horse races, right?

Definitely horses. There's no "pit road," which there'd have to be for cars. Besides, see the stables lined up in the lower right? But I have no clue what racetracks there are north of Kentucky!

I would say it is a horse or dirt track without a doubt. I am leaning towards horse because of the lack of a pit stop area. I started looking at the bigger horse tracks but had to give up, I was obsessing and the dishes were calling me, lol. Unless Erica would like to give another clue....

Horses- yes! To set the stage a bit more- one of the buildings in the picture is also a sporting venue which has a distinctive roofline.

I can see it out of my office right now - it is the Stampede grounds in my lovely hometown of Calgary, Alberta, Canada!

ETA - the big round thing is the Saddledome - home of my not so amazing Calgary Flames

When were you here last? I love the zoo as well - one of the best I have ever been to.

My jaw nearly hit the floor when I opened your message and there was my own city, LOL! I even debated posting becasuse if I was wrong, I would have been quite embarassed.

I'm glad you are enjoying it. I have been having too much fun with my latest obsession - Google Earth. I have over 30 locations so far for the Challenge - though I think I am going to have to toss using the Indy Speedway. :P

I was last in Calgary in 1994 or 1995. Can't remember for certain. I grew up in Great Falls, so I just a hop, skip and jump away. :-) Relatively speaking. :-)

We visit Great Falls at least once a year just for the sake of Target and the Super Walmart.

I thought Calgary at first too but then I thought that the Saddledome couldn't possibly look ROUND from above??! I guess it does - weird! So that's basically the Stampede grounds - mmm I can almost smell Those Little Donuts...

Marina (and anyone else in the Calgary area!) - did you know that DC under the age of 3 get in free to the Zoo? I went to get passes for myself and DD and they just issue you a card for DC (under 3) with an indefinite end date. I had to pay for mine ($48 but it costs $15 to go once, so why not?!) but DD is free for the next 2.25 years! Yay! DD loved the flamingos at the Zoo and also the gorillas, who were right up at the viewing window that day!

They are fun! Erica, I can't wait for tomorrow's challenge. :)

Btw, I would've guessed Meadowlands, NJ or Preakness and been wrong.
