I'm trying to make shortbread. The only ingreds. are flour butter, vanilla, and sugar. I've made it before and it was fine but this time the dough is very crumbly. I don't know what I can add to fix it. Anyone know??????

If I don't get any answers, I'll try water and throw it out if it doesn't work but I don't want to waste the ingreds.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

It's been a long while, but I'm pretty sure water did the trick for me. Try a very little bit at a time (like a teaspoon). I seem to remember that a little went a long way.

Does this mean Erica and I will be getting some in the mail?

KIDDING! Glad it worked. :)

Also, I'm glad to see you are baking with a 2yo and a 4-5 mo. old. It gives me hope.

LOL! I have enough flour, sugar and butter right now to make several dozen 5" cookies. :-)

Don't be too impressed! The concoction's been in my fridge for at least 3 weeks and I pulled it out because MIl is here for a visit. :P It tasted great though.+
