I know we've already discussed sunscreens a lot here. But, does anyone use a continuous spray sunscreen? I thought that DD might enjoy it more than the tedius rubbing of the lotion. ;) From the ingredients, it looks like they may be paraben free. If you scroll half way down, you can see the ingredient list for a Coppertone Sport one: http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=139696&catid=12101&trx=PLST-0-SEARCH&trxp1=12101&trxp2=139696&trxp3=1&trxp4=0&btrx=BUY-PLST-0-SEARCH
I think they also make a Coppertone Kids spray that they're selling at Costco.

Does anyone know if it an aerosol can like the hairsprays that are bad for the ozone layer or is it something different? Does it cover as well as the lotions?

TIA!

I used one of them today and love it! It's great for everything except the face (for obvious reasons). With a 3 yo DS it's great...you can spray while he's on the run :-)

Not sure on the aerosol aspect though.

We have that as well as the pump version. The pump versions come 2 ways - lotion that needs rubbing in, and a fine mist. I really like the fine mist pump spray. I have only seen it at Sam's Club though.

I just bought the Coppertone Kids SPF 50 continuous spray, and I love it! It isn't an aerosol like in hairspray cans, more like a continuous fine mist. I also bought the Hawaiian Tropic SPF 50 sunblock stick for DS's face (who also won't go out without a hat or sunglasses!):

It says that you don't have to rub it in, but I think I might have sprayed too much on DS's legs and had to smooth it in.

In any case, I like this MUCH better than any of the Water Babies sun products!

Good luck!

We've been using the Neutrogena Cool Mist and it is great. No rubbing! You spray it on your hand to put it on your child's face. DS did say that it was cold but I would expect that from a spray. :)

I used Coppertone Sport Continuous Spray all last year. LOVE it. I have no idea about the ozone (bad), but it works very well on the kid. My DD got faint tan lines on her feet from her favorite-wore-everyday-sandals, but remained otherwise pasty-pale. ;) Its MUCH easier to apply for me. I stocked up on the stuff. Love it!

I just bought the Coppertone Continuous Spray SPF 30 Sunblock today at the grocery store. I decided to buy it b/c I went to a pool party last weekend and a mom friend of mine whipped it out (the Coppertone Sport version, actually...but my grocery store was all sold out b/c it was on sale for $5.49 plus a $1.00 off coupon). It was so easy to spray down the kids; then she let me use it. Not greasy, easy to spray, great coverage, and waterproof. Also, when you're done swimming at the beach and you need to reapply, instead of rubbing sand and salt into your skin, you just spritz it on and there it stays. We used the spritz/pump spray last year (also from Coppertone) and the only thing I didn't like about it was the smell. For the record, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs, which harm the environment) have pretty much been outlawed since the 80s. The continuous sprays are safe...they don't even contain butane, which is a common propellant for aerosols that some find toxic and irritating. HTH!

FTR, this is what I got:
