I know this is a little random, but my dad travels a bunch for work and he always sends DS postcards from the places he has been with cute little notes on them. I think DS would love to look at the postcard collection, especially as he gets older, but I'm not sure how to save them. I don't want them in a loose pile, and I don't think they fit in a little flip photo album. I thought you clever ladies might have some good ideas? TIA!

If they won't fit in a flip photo album (and you could check by bringing them with you to the store), you could just get a normal photo album and put them in there. My friend has done scrapbooks with her daughter's pictures and her daughter LOVES flipping through them to look at the pictures. You could even add some information about when your dad went on the trip and why, etc.

Some postcards will fit in the flip photo albums (4x6 is a standard postcard size as well
as a standard photo size). But postcards tend to be less regular than photos; a 5x7 or 6x8 book might be better. Art supply stores, archival supply stores, and Japanese stationery stores are good for these things -- here's a more-or-less randomly chosen link (Itoya is cheap and just fine):

My MIL loves postcards and we try to send her one from places we go. About 8 years ago we bought her an album specifically for postcards but I'm not real sure where we got it. I know we sent away for it. Miles Kimball sticks in my mind.

Exposures has lots of different album pages. Maybe some of these would work:

Edited to fix link.

It doesn't look as nice as a photo album but I think sheet protectors and a 3-ring binder from a place like Staples is more practical. You can get sheet protectors that are transparent on both sides so when they are in the binder, you can easily turn the pages and see both sides of the postcards.

You could make a more artsy looking album with a scrapbook and vellum or glassine envelopes. Put the postcard in the envelope (you'll be able to see a bit because the envelope is translucent) and attach the envelope to the scrapbook page. If you attach the envelope by the front, the flap will be face up on the page and you can take the postcard out to look at it.
