I have a huge blue/purple bruise on my thigh and it is killing! Is there anything that you know of to reduce the swelling of a bruise? I have been putting arnica on it for 2 days and i have not seen any improvement.

Any tips?

Thanks

Arnica cream or gel rubbed in would work really well but if you can't find it, taking the tablets might help. The tablets work best taken right at the time of injury, the cream is good anytime.

I know that your injury isn't the same thing as this but when I was in H.S. all the girls (not me of course) used vinegar on their hickies (LOLOLOL which are bruises) and they claimed that it worked wonders!

Alternating warm compresses with cold packs can help. Try 15 minutes or so of each. Be careful with cold -- ice directly on skin is risky. Use a cold gel pack or similar, with a cloth.

Yep, this is what I was going to suggest. Warm, damp compresses, then cold packs wrapped in a towel.
