I have been so pleased with Ean's montessori school and two of the teachers are leaving. I'd like to get them a small token/gift of appreciation before they leave. I don't really know them personally so I don't have any ideas.
I know there are so many creative types out there - Any suggestions?

For a small gift I would get them a small vera bradley...either a wristlet if the teachers have a "younger style" or a cosmetics case if they are more conservative. I gave my DS's daycare teachers a VB wristlet for mother's day and they were a big hit. My favorite part is that you can buy them each the same item...but really personalize it with the fabric you choose.

i'd take some of the art your dc's made in their classes and frame it with a poem or something.

I'd get a gift card to a store, like Barnes & Noble or Target. A friend of mine was a teacher and she said she got all kinds of stuff at the end of the year, mainly soaps/lotions, that she never used and had to get rid of.

gift cards for art supply stores, or Barnes and Noble, or movie/restaurants? maybe a nice totebag with their name? Maybe a basket with a disposable camera and photo album stuff that they can use on their last day to take pictures of the kids?

I never taught preschool, but I've received some really nice stuff over the years. Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, and department store gift cards were sooooooooo nice (in small denominations, like $5-10).
From my sunday school kids (grades 3-5), where I actually taught my last class this past Memorial Day weekend, I got cookies, photo frames, a Williams Sonoma mug w/ Godiva hot chocolate mix inside, and a pretty cross bookmark. All of these things were so sweet and greatly appreciated. Soaps and Lotions....gag!

Gift cards are always perfect! As a teacher, at the risk of sounding ungrateful, I get a bunch of crap at Christmas and the end of the year. My fave things are gift cards (small amounts). It shows your gratitude and appreciation and it's useful. :)

Here's another vote for gift cards. You can always enclose the gift card in a card made by or signed by your DC to make it personal.

I'm putting together a Shutterfly Snap Book for our preschool teacher. I have taken individual pics of each child over the year, so each kid will have their own page. It's a little more personal than the school yearbook.
I actually can't wait to put it together. I have also given out gift cards to Panera and Borders.

I got these initial notes from Crane's and a little box of Godiva for each teacher. http://www.crane.com/prdSell.aspx?DeptName=Stationery&SubDeptName=InitialNotesandCards&Name=CN19Z6_InitialNotes

A Gift Card!
They are always the right size, color, scent and easily fit in your purse. I am in a class full of teachers and never have any of them complained about a gift card.
Personalize it by having your ds make a card and decorate the envelope.
