We're working on getting DD's new "big girl room" ready for her and the carpet really needs to be cleaned. It has pet stains and food stains and just 5+ years of use.
I'm leery about renting one of those steam cleaners at the supermarket or having a carpet cleaning service come do it, because I have no idea what is in the foamy cleaners they use. We once had a cleaning service clean one of our rugs, and the perfumed smell was so strong that we had to keep it in the garage for weeks until it aired out enough for us to tolerate it in the house.
Do any of the natural cleaning experts out there know a good way to thoroughly clean a carpet? I'd also welcome remedies for spot cleaning, too.
