We are trying to find a family friendly place to go on vacation, and I found this place. Each family has their own personal nanny available from 9 a.m.-4:40 p.m., and will babysit after that for $4/hr. They also keep your room clean, the fridge stocked, supervise your kids' naps. It sounds pretty incredible.

So, has anybody ever been, or know somebody who has, and have an opinion on it?

TIA,

Sheila

My best friend's colleague went there recently and LOVED it. Her nanny was wonderful and they had a great time. They also apparently sometimes have grandparent-stays-free weeks as well.

Do you have a URL? I did a search and tons of TA sites came up for it but I couldn't find it's actual site.

My parents just went to Jamaica..and I want to say that is where they stayed. That is why I was trying to find the site...to see if it was the same one. They had a great time and said they saw tons of parents lounging around with the nanny with the kids. They said we should go.

Anyone have any ideas of this grandparents free thing? It would be great to go all together.

Anyways they loved it, but be forewarned. Jamaica is very poor and if you go out of the resort you have to go with a guide and it's not pretty from what my parents told me. Also, you are taken care of like kings and that bothered my parents a bit. They are way down to earth and didn't like that when they got up their napkin was folded and waiting for them when they came back to the table. LOL! Needless to say they've never dined in a 5 star restaurant.

Anyways, I'll ck with them and find out the name but I'm pretty sure this was it.

Thanks for all of the responses. I would really like to give this a try, as even though M loves water, G hates it. So, if we had somebody right there with us to watch G while the rest of us swam, it would be great. Plus, it would be nice to be able to be out past 7:30 for at least 1 night!

This seems awesome...I would love to have a nanny on vacation. But I would find it hard to really trust someone I didn't know very well with my baby....anyone else?

I know, that's the thing. It sounds so great, but I'd be leery of leaving my child alone with them, at least at first. I think we would use her more for going with us to the beach, to eat, etc. Then after we were more comfortable with her, maybe in the evening so we could go to dinner.

Don't do it!

We did Beaches Family Resort in Negril and it was horrible, and I think it's supposed to be a notch above FDR, or at least that is how I interpreted it. The literature, websites, reviews made it sound like a paradise. Beaches was a nightmare. We couldn't wait to leave!

I'll tell you where to have the PERFECT beach vacation. We just got back from Seaside, FL. It is the perfect family destination, and so much prettier than Jamaica...and the people are so much nicer. You get your own house to stay in, can get to the beach, the pool, anywhere, on foot in 5 minutes. It's wonderful! No, you don't have cheap nanny service, but I would have never put my children at the Beaches kids club (more like a daycare) or trusted them with their nannies. I'm sure you can hire nannies at Seaside, too, but there's really no need. It's a great place for family and kids, and you can take your kids anywhere there! It's a place swarming with young families.
