mine was my two year old ds walking up to the toilet and doing "the stance" while aiming his belly button trying to use the potty like big brother does.

my older ds asked for and took a nap today, the first one in over a year except when sick!

now my younger ds is doing the elmo dance with elmo and he is doing it rather well.

sigh.............so what made your day?

That is so cute!

Emma has been playing pretend mommy all day and it is absolutely adorable (she even dropped her baby on her head and rubbed it and said she was sorry, what a good little mommy!) So far baby has had a bath, been fed, bathed, and gone on a little walk!

What didn't make my day was a call from the mechanic saying our car needs $500 in repairs so the A/C will work. When it's 112 degrees out it's not a choice. Gulp.

Well, not today, but two days ago, Kaya accidentally did a somersault while doing a standing forward bend. The look on her face was priceless and she giggled, got up and did it again. And again. And again. For 10 minutes. She was totally cracking up and getting more and more unsteady and I told DH to get the camera. So he ran to get the camera and filmed her doing a few more of these silly things, most of which were pretty uneven at this point, LOL, and then stood up and walked around like a drunkard. I think I suggested Ring Around the Rosie, so she started spinning around (in her already drunken state) and singing Ring Around the Rosie (which she can actually do pretty well) and falling down a bit sooner than the end. Then she got up and did it again. Finally, I said, maybe you should try it the other direction? So she said, "Backwards!" and started spinning in a counter clockwise direction, which seemed to steady her for a bit. We were all in hysterics by that time. The great thing is that we got a lot of it on camera. :)

DSa is running in circles right smack in the middle of our LR and he learned how to turn on/off the television...not so cute when we're in the middle of an Einstein DVD but the fact that he knows what OFF and ON are...neat.

DSb laughed when I was startled by a slamming door. I did that sound you make when startled and DSb looked at me and laughed.

My days are 'made' with the ordinary and routine kind of stuff that goes on everyday.

There was a turtle in our driveway when we got home today. Watching it haul *ss across our lawn to get away from two inquistive 3 year olds was a hoot. The wonderment on dd and ds' faces was priceless. We followed the turtle over a stonewall and on the way we ran into 2 snakes. Then ds hollered, "where more animals Mommy?" :)

My DH bought me a new dishwasher today because he said I was going to have to have a place to sterilize pacifiers and breast pump parts and baby toys soon. I almost melted. I guess it's just finally hitting DH that we could find out we're going to be parents in a couple of short months.

Yeah, we needed a new d/w anyways b/c it was on the fritz...but ever since our loss last March DH has refused to talk about the what ifs and preparation for another pregnancy, and now i'm just so....(sorry, tearing up)... :)

Nathan all suited up in swimwear & life vest JUMPED into the neighbors pool today and doggy paddled across and back! Then when it was time to go he paddled to the center of the pool and laughed saying No No home. He had so much fun and NO fear of the water.

I was going to say somersaults, too! DS has been practing and today he finally got them perfectly straight. He seems to get tired after 10 or so and loses the straighness.

Great you got it on film! Our batteries were dead :(.

Payton picked out DH's Father's Day card on his own today. It's Lion King, of course, and it was the first thing Payton told DH when he got home ("I got you a Simba card, Daddy!") but it made me smile pretty big :)

Your boys sound like they being extra-precious today, Becky!

Toby got a hold of the staple remover from my office and started "biting" my shirt with it. I asked "what are you doing?" and he said, with an earnest expresssion "Mama, I was just trying to punch holes in your shirt" (as one might say "Mama, I just wanted a glass of water"). I said something like "Well, we don't want to hurt my shirt, do we?" and he said "Hurt shirt? I need to kiss it and make it better". Then he threw his arms around my hips and kissed me on the belly, about where he has been "just trying to punch holes" LOL.

DS realized that he can belly laugh. DD realized that she can entertain DS and make him laugh. So the house was full of giggles today (mine, DH's and theirs).

DS, DD and I took a three hour nap, which was awesome since DD didn't take one yesterday at all, but now I am wide awake at 1am. :(

Well, it's not a kid story, because mine's not here yet, but after many visits to places I did not like at all, I finally found a daycare facility yesterday afternoon that I LOVE. This has been a big source of angst for me for the last few weeks as I kept visiting facilities and finding them underwhelming, to say the least. To top it off, my DH was working when I went and actually WANTS to go visit it before we put our application in. When we started the process of looking at places, he was willing to go, but kind of had an "I don't know what to be looking for anyway" attitude. He now WANTS to go when he's off on Friday and spend a few hours checking it out. So, short of him reporting that any cultlike activities occur on Friday, we may have a huge load off in finding this place.

I found the perfect dress to wear to our friends' wedding in July!
Mmmm... now to find new shoes and accessories to wear with it. ;)

How does this relate to children? Well, Jazzy napped in the stroller while I took my time in the changing room!

Over the weekend I (yes I, not DH) taught Charlie how to pee standing up (I had to hold it, of course). Last night while playing outside Charlie had to pee and wanted to go outside and he held it himself!!! YAY!!!!!

today, (like every day lately) my two year old woke up, and immediately asked for his brother, then ran into his bedroom and screamed "wake up sammy" ala wiggles, and kisses him. its so sweet !

And sunday - we went to an adult afternoon party at a chi chi penthouse apt, but had no sitter, so the host said their almost 5 year old could entertain my two, well, this kid was the biggest brat, and my guy behaved so well and was so polite, I really was proud and happy ! Hard to explain, but I have sometimes worried about DS1's behavior, because he does not always behave as well as other kids when he gets into group settings, and it was like night and day watching him compared to this other kid.

I also really enjoyed it on the drive home from school/work yesterday when I asked him a question, and he broke out into song and started singing "let me sleep on it" from that meatloaf song (not the pg13 rated stuff, just the sleep on it part and the "i gotta know right now"). it was hilarious.

I was downstairs folding laundry when DS woke up from his nap. I could hear DH on the baby monitor talking baby talk to DS, changing his diaper, etc. When I went upstairs, they were in the bathroom, and DH was holding DS up to look at the mirror. DS was delighted and smiling (we joke that he is very vain). DH handed him over to me, and DS watched DH walk out of the room, smiling the whole time.

I love my boys!

DS and I played with bubbles in the rain today, I blew them on the porch and he stomped on them in his bare feet, hair soaking wet, with a big goofy grin on his face. A really nice morning. :)
