Okay, I'm going to try not to cheat by googling it, but Tiannemen Square?
It reminds me of the Forbidden City, but I'm going to limit myself to one guess per post :)

Tiananmen Square is just to the south of the Forbidden City.

DH (who is a huge fan of these challenges, btw) said Forbidden City a couple of hours ago, and just now asked me if he was right...is he? Is everyone?

ETA: Does anyone know that the name of the body of water is that's just west of the Forbidden City?

I just checked with a lady I work with who is from Beijing, and there are actually two lakes. Here is a shot showing the lakes and their names.
