Nick (and I) are enjoying this sooo much and it is not a book usually seen on threads here so wanted to share it with you. Great combinations of dancing and animals, highly recommended from a mom who is sick of truck, color and shape books.

This is one of our favorites, too, Susan! The rhyme is catchy with out being annoying, and the illustrations are adorable.

When DS was fussy (in his "younger" days), I could stop him in his tracks just by reciting the opening lines. His eyes would get huge and he'd listen for the rest of the story. Now he requests the book often and loves opening the flaps. Okay, so I've had to patch a few with tape. ;)

Wow, sounds like fun! And Kaya is finally at the age where she won't automatically tear out flaps so this should be fun for her! :)

Thanks for the recommendation. We checked it out from the library today, and it's a lot of fun!

I'll have to order it!

Any other suggestions for a just turned 2 yr old? I am SO BORED with my daughter's books, and my son's are way over her head.

Thanks!

My DS is almost two, and some of our current favorites are:

"Art Dog," by Thacher Hurd. (His "Cat's Pajamas" is -- hands down -- my favorite board book, but I think it's out of print.)

"Carlo Likes Colors" and "Carlo Likes Counting," by Jessica Spanyol. (There are a few more in this series, too -- all about a giraffe and his buddy, Crackers the cat.)

We're also reading a few of the "Little Bear" books by Else Holmelund Minarik. And the "Little Critter" stories by Mercer Mayer are funny and well drawn.

I swear, if I won the lottery, I would just buy books... :)

I put in on my Amazon list ;)

"Bear Snores On" is one of our newer faves, as is "Tumble Bumble".

Tumble Bumble is our favorite also. MY favorite is Mr. Brown can Moo. I love making the sounds!!

We just ordered Susan's suggestion. Can't wait to get it.

What do you do with "older" books when you are through with them and want to thin the herd? Any suggestions?
