My DH just discovered that when Amelia got into my mascara, she also got it all over the upolstery of my glider. What on earth can I do to get it out? Any suggestions? This is my special chair that I got right before Linnea was born and I don't want it to be ruined.

No BTDT here, but I found this link. Scroll to the bottom and it has a section on removing mascara. Good luck!

Yikes o.k. I am not sure what you have tried yet...

A couple of things I found:

1. Sponge with a small amount of dry-cleaning solvent.
Blot. (Use small amounts to prevent any possible damage
to sizings, backings, or stuffing materials. Do not use
gasoline, lighter fluid, or carbon tetrachloride).

2. Mix one teaspoon of a neutral detergent (a mild
detergent containing no alkalies or bleaches) with a cup
of luke-warm water. Blot.

3. Sponge with clean water. Blot.

------------
Or...
Dissolve five aspirin in water and dab the stain until it's gone.

Not sure if the aspirin will work or not BUT you might have that in the house whereas you probably don't have dry-cleaning solvent....

Hope one of those works for you!

You can never go wrong with Spot Shot.

Club soda or maybe WD-40? Hmm, let me know if one of those don't work, I'll keep looking. Lestoil and Goo gone will work but then you'll have to deal with the smell.

Geez, and I thought getting crayon off the refrigerator was difficult.....magic eraser BTW, awesome, awesome, awesome!!

For the rocking chair, try rubbing alcohol.

For the glider, spot shot. It took black pen out of my carpet that 2 other cleaners didn't take up. Blot the stain with white paper towels and keep using new ones until it's gone, don't rub.

I've got to get some rest, but I'll try them tomorrow. Amazing how quickly they can cause so much damage.
