The dress I ordered for a wedding coming up in August just got here, and it shows a lot more shoulder, back, neck, and bosom than I usually show. Even now with very minimal sun exposure my arms are pretty tan but the rest of my neckline (front and back) is mostly ghostly white, with blue veins.

Is there a product I can use, either make-up or self-tanner, that will help even things out some? I'm not looking for a perfect tan, just something to make the white skin with blue veins not stand out so much...

Thanks!!

Petra - I personally haven't tried it, but I have heard that Jergens makes a really good self tanner. I find this one intriguing because you know it probably costs so much less than the others.

I use the Jergens lotion with tanner about once a week. I like it. I don't get streaks and the color is good. It does not add tons of color but I like the way it keeps my skin from being white, white!

I think you could use this on your back and shoulders and blend into your tan arms to even out your color.

I've been using one I like, and it is really a body lotion with just a little bit of tanner in it--Olay Body Quench Radiance. It does not tan too much, but gives a bit of bronzy color and makes my extremely white and blue-veiny skin look pretty and glowing. Also, it is a lot easier for me to apply without streaks than regular self tanner, which I've always had trouble with. I don't really want to look tan, because that seems too false for my coloring and too much trouble to maintain, but my arms and chest look nicer this time of year with a little bit of color, so this is perfect for me.

Awesome - I'll have to check it out - thanks :)

The info at the website looks promising:
http://www.jergens.com/products/index.asp?action=viewProduct&id=15

Is that the one you're referring to?

I use this sometimes, too. It's the same idea as the Jergens one. I am very fair-skinned, and this is the only tanning product I have ever used that was not too dark for me.

That's it! Fairly cheap too.

Petra-

I have used the Jergens and really liked it. However, after reading some reviews on makeup alley, I am going to try something new when I run out of the Jergens. Here is the link to the reviews: http://tinyurl.com/qeqtz

Clairins (sp?) makes a REALLY, shockingly good self-tanning product, but it's on the $$ side.

I have heard good things on the Neutrogena ones, but have not tried them myself.
