...because I just don't get it. Who on earth would want to buy these flip-flops at all, let alone for over $20 with shipping?! I noticed the auction and feedback are private. Hmmm, wonder why. :P I looked at their completed auctions and a pair of used Asics sneakers went for over $100! Am I missing something here? At first I thought maybe they were some celebrity's shoes but I don't see that in the description or on their "About Me" page. I'm stumped. :) Here's the link...

Too funny, especially because those same flip flops new are probably $5. Maybe it is geared towards some sort of fettish??

There is apparently a fetish market for "well worn" shoes. I remember seeing a link to a pair of well worn red ballet slippers that went for some ridiculous amount. Ewwwwwwww.....

Definitely a fetish, and it says it's a "private" listing, saying it won't show the winner. Ick.

Eww. I just did a search on "well worn shoes" and there are tons of listings. Who woulda thunk? You know, I should have sold all my old shoes that no longer fit after pregnancy on e-bay instead of donating them to Goodwill!

I've got 2 pairs of Havaianas (one black, one royal blue w/ a Brazilian flag on the strap) that I could sell you for cheaper than that if you're interested. ;) Something tells me you're not though! :P

Havaianas I could see, since they're the original flip-flop. Old Navy, though?!? C'mon.

yup. Fetish. Why do you think there are so many photos of the girl's feet in the shoes??

(shudder)

Now I've heard freakin' everything.

And to think, I've been GIVING AWAY a ton of shoes to charity every year. I could be RICH! :D

Wow, I'm with you. I have a closetful of shoes that need a new home. Should I try it? I could get a nice new crib for the new baby, maybe finance a makeover for her room with all these shoes. ;)

Wow. I could be rich too! Nobody would pay to see my ass-ugly feet though. That chick's shoes were ugly, but her feet are pretty cute, no? (Uh, no, I am not a foot fetishist! :P)

i agree, now i've seen everything. when i first read your post and looked at the link i was thinking it was some kind of underground trade (like blue flip flops = some kind of ilicit substance) that 'i' wouldn't be familiar with... but i think you all are right - fettish.

i'm with pp. do you think i can unload all of my 'well worn', not to be used again, work shoes from before ds? i don't know if i could actually bring myself to actually put them in a box and ship them off.

It looks like there's a lot of money to be made selling "well worn penny loafers"-- several pairs sold for over $100! I have some well worn little pink slip on flats from Payless that make my feet sweat really bad...hmmmmm :).

Foot Fetish was discussed back during an abnormal psychology class in college and the professor mentioned that usually 99% who are afflicted do not progress to a serious crime (hmmmm.....). They apparently have weird behaviors in private. ITA w/ pp's, it is a very creepy manifestation.

Well, at least they aren't hurting anyone; I say if they want to sniff a shoe or whatever it is they do, more power to them!

Plus, we could all be VERY VERY wealthy now that we're on to this!!!http://forum.digital-digest.com/images/smilies/evilwink.gif

{Well, at least they aren't hurting anyone}

It was mentioned in class that they do go as far as stealing to satisfy the fetish.

Yeah, we should all start digging our closets now. I never thought well worn footwear could sell very well on Ebay. Jo, you gave me a chuckle :D

Ok, business proposition... I have cuter (is that a word?) feet than that chic and can wear anything in the 8.5-9.5 range. Send me your shoes, my hubby will take pics and we will make gobs of money to buy more shoes with. I will split the profits with ya. Deal?? ;)
I am so not above taking advantage of someone's fetish so that I can buy more shoes. Symbiotic relationship, if you ask me!!

Now I have seen it all. I would never, ever, ever have figured this one out. Be careful PP about becoming co-dependent :7 --off to dig through my closet, and hubbies too I guess? or is it just women's feet?...
