the insurance copay to see the pediatrician to have a pea removed from way up my child's nose is $20.00. It is money I would have liked to spend elsewhere!! Holy shnikes what a day!

Isn't that a right of passage for parents?

Yikes about the pea! But at least you don't have to pay the billing price of the visit. I wonder what medical billing code they use for "pea removal", :P

Oh my, I know what you went through today. Amelia has been to the doctor to have things removed more times than I can count. Last time it was two calculator buttons and two inch long pieces of fuzz all at one time! Why do they do these things?

Yes, but pea out of nose: priceless.

Wow. Could you imagine what they would have charged if it had been a carrot? ;)

my mom likes to tell the story that this is how i 'bonded' with my childhood home. the first day she brought us there, i was three, it was completely empty, so she was letting me 'explore' while changing my sister's diaper. well wouldn't you know it, i found the only thing in the whole house, a bead on the floor of the bedroom closet, and promptly stuck it up my nose. glamourous, i know. i don't think co-pays existed back then :).

For Gabrielle's beanectomy, the insurance company was billed $237 by my pediatrician. :) I feel your pain. LOL

Good to know. Ours was able to dislodge the blueberry he stuck up his nose before I took him to a doc. Note: this was more than 24 hrs after I suspected it. Yeah, I'm not one to rush to the doctor. Don't shoot me!

I'll never forget my very pre-mom days listening to this conversation a coworker was having.

" But honey, why did you stick the Barbie shoe up your nose?"

Rachel,
I'm sitting at my desk and laughing so hard at this comment. I just don't know why. Thanks.

Ah good memories. I remember vaguely sticking a small piece of chalk up my nose when I was 2 or 3. My grandmother was watching me & tried to get it out with a bobby pin & ended up REALLY lodging it in there. I ended up at the hospital strapped into a papoose while the doctor pulled it out. Yeah...haven't experienced it yet but definitely sounds like a rite of passage. ;)
