Good guess, as we are south of the equator, but this is not the Amazon.

You are definitely in the correct hemisphere!

I had to google for more info-

No (nÅ?) [key], lake, S central Sudan, in the swampy Sudd region. It is formed by the floodwaters of the White Nile and varies in size seasonally. Its maximum area is c.40 sq mi (100 sq km). Much papyrus grows in the lake. http://www.infoplease.com/ce6/world/A0835768.html

So the White Nile (to be exact) and Lake No. I found this by starting in Cairo and following the river. It is amazing where I end up sometimes. :-)

Wild, but good! And to clarify why I had to go back and correct my response to Eileen- the lake is approx. 9 degrees 30 north of the equator. Close to being south, but *not* quite! ;-)

That was actually a huge clue for me. That you had to edit to correct something like that must mean that it's almost too close to tell!

Ha, ha, see what I miss by having to go to bed earlier on the East Coast? Mine was a wild guess, but it looked like some sort of river...
