Why is it that this girl will happily munch on uncooked pasta, but even with the prospect of some chocolate ice cream for dessert if she eats her vitamins, she won't eat her vitamin. It's the Fruit Punch flavored Rainbow Lite Star-shaped vitamin and I've tried it and DH has tried it and it's not that bad. She doesn't eat candy, either, or cake, although none of that is our doing. The only sweets she will eat a bit of are those that contain chocolate (DH is a chocoholic, as is her namesake (my MIL), so I guess the genes run true). She even seems to like the darker chocolate better. And no, although we were able to get her to drink a bit of chocolate milk, and she said she liked it, she hasn't had any more since the time she took two sips.

And by the way, she made a pun tonight, although I'm sure she didn't mean it that way. She went up to DH and said, "Up please, up please!" He picked her up and said, "Are your legs broken?" She replied, "No, I'm taking a break."

ETA: Tonight, while I was nursing her, she was looking at a little sticker book that had Sesame Street characters on it. She pointed on the back to Big Bird who was standing up (so full body shot). I said, "That's Big Bird." She said, "That's not Big Bird, THIS is Big Bird!" and she pointed to the front where there was a headshot of Big Bird that was clearly bigger than the one on the back. Then she pointed back to the other one and said, "This is Small Bird." Clearly, my DD does not watch Sesame Street. ;)

LOL at the Big Bird, Small Bird comment. It seems so logical!

Yeah, I haven't taught her perspective yet. ;)

Norah eats uncooked pasta too! And she loves to eat ice. She will sit at the table with a piece of ice in a bowl and, well, eat it.

She does like sweets, but not chocolate, and will only eat the icing off of cake.

And she loves her private parts, calls it her "gine gine," and today she was gleefully dancing naked and said, "i'm dancing with my gine gine."

Payton only likes the *red* gummy vitamins. I don't know what I'm going to do with the pile of orange and yellow at the end, but probably I'll just get him over it when we get there like we did with the last bottle :)

Big Bird, Small Bird cracks me up. Pretty darn logical if you ask me!

Payton's jammies are NOT clothes. They are jammies. And if you ask him to take off his (jammy) shirt, he tells you it's NOT a shirt, it's a jammy top. And underwear are NOT pants, they are [insert character here] underwear, so don't suggest he take off his pants for his bath if he's only wearing underwear at that stage! Everything has a *very* specific name and use-- there are no general terms in this house.

The boy has no hope-- both DH and I are pretty dang anal, and it looks like he got hit with our tendencies pretty hard :)

LOL, that's pretty hilarious. Kaya has part of the bug, but not in the same way. For example, if she wears pants or diaper covers or whatever without underwear (or diapers) inside, then it's called underwear. But it looks like she's not anal about things like that in general. Though she does show some OC tendencies...and certain things have to be done her way. Today, when we were going to a luncheon at a neighbor's house, she put on her sandals the wrong way. When I pointed it out, she looked down and said, "It doesn't matter." She's perfectly capable of putting on her shoes the right way, but sometimes, she just likes to have them backwards. She will also wear all of her dresses and shirts backwards (unless there are buttons in the front) because she likes to do her own buttons. Our household motto is, "Whatever works!" ;)

DS loves diced ham but refuses to eat thinly-sliced deli ham. He'll eat apple slices but not apple chunks (slices that I cut into smaller pieces). He detests mozzarella and swiss cheese, instead opting for extra sharp cheddar.

It perplexes me.

That's great that Kaya can differentiate between big and small things! DS couldn't care less at the moment... :P

LOL at the Kaya stories :) I always enjoy them!

Along the uncooked pasta lines, Logan will eat uncooked oatmeal (while I'm preparing the cooked stuff) but won't eat it cooked, or at most, a spoonful. Weird toddler tastebuds, I say ;)

He's definitely got a touch of OC tendencies...he wouldn't eat breakfast yesterday until I closed a kitchen cabinet I had left open. He does things like that pretty often (uh oh!! Mama, uhoh!!! uhoh! That open! Gotta close it. Peaaaaase close it!).

About a month or two ago, he started using the phrase "actually...." to correct us. So in your big bird example, from him it would have been "this actually is a little bird, not a big bird." Yesterday I was corrected for calling something a lid...he told me "actually, that NOT a lid, that is a CAP." Sometimes he does it just to be oppositional, and sometimes he's right ;) We saw a man running on the side of the road the other day. I told him to look out the window, someone was running. He told me, "No, that many actually is walking. He walking mama. Not running." and then started cracking up ;)

Now, if I stare off into space or even just look at the clock for example, I get..."mama, what you looking at? what is mama looking at?". Apparently sometimes I subconsciously squint or something because then he'll make the face and say "why mama do this??" as he squints his eyes. Sometimes I'll tell him I'm "just thinking" and now he asks, "what mama thinkin???". Sigh.

We have a long road ahead of us, no? ;)

It's so weird--Kaya and Logan definitely have a lot of similar tendencies. You can see why I've always kept track of your posts about Logan. ;) Kaya's favorite phrase is "very very". So she is "very very hungry" or this is "very very hot" or this laundry lint is "very very soft and very very fuzzy" (this last one was yesterday when I was trying to distract her from the drying balls--which she is very very fascinated with so I pulled out the lint trap and let her clean it).

I'm guessing you all used the word "actually" to correct him at one time or another? ;)

Oh, Beth, our boys could be twins :) Your cabinet story rings true over here... and all the questions about what the heck I'm doing and thinking...

Ah, love this phase :)

Nathan loves eggs in the mornings and stands and "helps" me cook them. He will only eat the ones w/ brown or green shells that my mom brings ( she has a small farm w/ chickens, cows goats and horses). I had to get a box of "store eggs" and when I opened the box of white eggs he started screaming NO NO NO Mam Maws eggies over and over. I cooked them but he wouldnt touch them.

My mom got a big kick out of it and has promised to keep him supplied in Mam Maw's eggies. OR I have to remember to buy brown ones!
