Hi all: Though we don't live terribly near to one, we LOVE Trader Joe's!! We've been trying to eat more organic foods, esp for ds, but often can't because of the price tag. But TJ's is very affordable! Plus, they always have new things for us to try. :) Anyways, we love getting:
Organic Milk
Dark Chocolate Covered Pretzels
TJ's Just Clusters Cereal
Basmati Rice Mix
Organic chicken broth
Unique Origins Chocolate
Lemon Tart
Their Pirate's Booty wannabe's (forgot the name)
These puffed pea snacks (forgot the name)
TJ's handsoap, dish soap
and so much more...
But since I had so much fun with the Costco thread, anyone care to join me w/ this TJ's thread?

I haven't been going too often over the last couple of years, but I used to love buying their freshly squeezed orange juice, curry sauce, and creole sauce. The last two items are great for easy dinners. Just saute some veggies and chicken and throw in the sauce.

I did visit about a month ago and I saw some guy cleaning out the pre-made quesadillas in the produce section. Maybe those are tasty???

Well, I've only been there a couple of times but we are thinking of going tonight so I would love to get some ideas. It's an hour away for us unfortunately so I want to stock up on things. I do know that we love the fruit leathers, the maderin orange chicken, and the beef burritos.

There was a TJ's thread a few months ago. Do a search and you'll find more to tempt you!

FYI--no fruit leathers right now. Their supplier got bought out and the new owner refuses to honor TJ's contract. BOo hoo!!

Freeze dried strawberries, much cheaper than the same size tub at whole foods. DS loves these, either on their own or I mix it in with mighty bites for a snack

Their fruit popsicles. The caribbean or strawberry are yummy and there's real fruit pieces in them. A pack of 4 cost about $1.90.

Greek style yoghurt, either plain or flavoured. A nice thick yoghurt.

Naan bread. Buy their indian curry saces, a pack of naan bread, and use the greek style yoghurt to make a raaita (sp?) and you've got a meal in minutes.

When I lived in Chicago burbs, the TJ's was right next to my Metra stop, so I stopped every day on my way home for the daily sample--which I usually bought-- and something for dinner. Now I have to drive 40 min :(

Frozen roasted peppers (add to anything)
frozen avocados (on turkey sandwiches)
Italian sandwich bread (forgot the name, tastes like sourdough)
cranberry walnut tart (yum, with vanilla icecream)
Greek yogurt (no sugar!)
pesto in tub (so much better than groc store variety)
orange chicken (frozen)
chowmein frozen mix (we add cashews)
breaded eggplant
lobster bisque (chunky)
bags of almonds (heart healthy for hubby's lunch)
pine nuts (great price)
chicken chimichangas
organic applesauce (freeze in ice cube tray for baby, cheap)
spices
peach salsa
I used to love the chocolate coconut macaroons, but they don't carry anymore :(

Great idea about the cinnamon pita chips with vanilla icecream--I'm going to have to try that. I wonder how the chips would be heated up?
