If you would compare 8 ounces of a Coke that I drank
straight out of the can versus an 8 ounce fountain Coke,
would the caffeine amounts be the same???

A Coke from the can seems so concentrated to me while
a fountain Coke seems more watered down. So, I was
curious on the caffeine levels.

Thanks for your help!!

Off the top of my head, I believe the caffeine levels will be the same, but the pressure it's under changes the effects of the carbonation, so the caffeine from the canned Coke will hit your bloodstream faster than that of a fountain Coke.

I hope someone has more definitive information for you than that, though. :)

If your 8 oz fountain drink contains ice it will have less coke, right?

To get a fountain coke they mix the syrup with water
and carbonation, right?

I was thinking a fountain coke was like a watered
down can of coke so it must be less caffeine??

I'm not really sure why I think that!

That's how they make both types of Coke. To bottle/can it, the water (usually filtered/purified) is mixed with the syrup (VERY concentrated) and carbonated, and then put in the bottle/can and sealed. At the fountain, the coke/water/carbonation are mixed together when you push the button. But it is the same process.

Taste differences are due to different waters or different mix concentrations (like when the syrup is running low).

Sarah,

Thanks so much for the info! I never knew that they were
made the same way. It's makes sense though! (I'm just
an idiot!) :)

Yep. The fountain machines also need to be calibrated (or they did ~10y ago, when last I worked with them). If calibrated correctly, they should be exactly the same (until the ice melts!).
