What's up with the # signs

OK, so I am over my embarrassment of yesterday. BUT today I went to type a certain word into a post and instead it came up with a # sign for each letter --like "####". It wasn't really that bad of a word though probably not appropriate for a parenting board-- but now the eleven YO side of me wants to keep posting bad words and see which ones come up as pound signs. Is this a new feature or am I on double secret probation?? :)

I don't know which ones, though, and I'm too chicken to find out!

I know of one word that always gets ##'d out but sometimes shouldn't because its also a man's name- and sometimes that's what the poster intened to write anyway.
Its our Vice President's first name.

Hmm, never had that happen to me. Now I want to know what word you were using. Oh and BTW, I don't think you should be embarrassed at all about the game post. It was fun and you couldn't have know it would cause trouble.

I've had that happen because it's also the name of a sporting goods store see: ####'s Sporting Goods

It's a profanity thing built into the script of the Board. I think there are probably about six or eight of them, and the list can be added to.

Well, the other day I mentioned my big-ass booty when commenting on my favorite undies, the Gap lowrise hipsters. Wonder if that will pass. Ya know, I used to be a great big potty mouth, but since DS, I've tried so hard to stop, and most days I'm great. Now I'm big into "Oh crap" instead of the S word and frakkin' instead of the other one, which i got from Battlestar Galactica. Of course, that's not a terribly greaat thing, cuz now, that just means that DS will probably have those words become part of his vocabulary.
