View Full Version : Does anyone use BooksFree.com or a similar service?

I came across this site while looking for alternatives to borrowing books from my library, since they seemingly never have the books I really want to check out.

It kind of sounds like NetFlix in format, and I like the fact you can borrow audio cds as well as books. Does anyone have any experience with this place or know of a similar service?

No experience, but have you asked at your library about interlibrary loan? Most libraries (if not all) participate...ours offers it for free, but I know that a few systems charge a minor fee (say $1) for the service. Ours has a database you can search and request from online, just like the "home" library catalog.

Yep, my library does that as well for free and I make use of it. I'm just looking for other options.

Yeah, well we share the same library and I'm still waiting on my interlibrary loan arrival notice from "The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding" in 2001.

LOL! Well that doesn't surprise me. I haven't received notices for some of the books I've requested before, but when I've checked online it'll say the book is holding for me. On the other hand, I've also gotten one or two notices a day via snail mail for as long as ten days about a book I've already picked up. Duh! Obviously VCL's system has a few problems.

I'm hoping you found a copy of that book somewhere else in the meantime. ;)
