My "baby's" first day of kindergarten...

Lily started Kindergarten today, she ran right in and never looked back. Here is a picture from yesterday when we both went to meet the teacher.

wow what a momentous event! and what adorable pictures! she looks so excited to have found her desk...i'd be on an all ice cream and chocolate diet today if I were you....but i'm glad she handled it so well!

It was Naartjie! I plan for her to get as much wear out of this brand because I am scared she will outgrow it soon :( And, I for one, think it is so cute!!

Cara - Lilly looks so happy and confident. What a sweetheart. My ds is starting kindergarten on Tuesday and I can't believe it! I hope she had a great first day and likes her teacher. :)

Good luck Mama!! I thought I would be so cool and collected, but I was teary watching her run off through the doors. It just hit me how my exclusive control over what she is exposed to and experiences has long since ended. She just looked so little and so big all at the same time.
She said she made a new friend and learned about snakes, so I guess it was a good first day!!

Oh, isn't that the truth? It is a whole big, new world out there for them and we have much less control and influence in it. I will miss walking him right up to the classroom door and instead waving goodbye on the corner as he rides away on the bus. It is a very weird feeling to think that he will be gone for almost 8 hours a day after having him around for almost 6 years.

I'll try to post pictures next week, too!
