Just found out at 10:30 tonight that we're going to the Baltimore Aquarium (three hours away) tomorrow morning. We've never been there, but my sister has a few years ago (she and my BIL are going with us). We've already purchased our tickets online (including the dolphin show) and printed out a coupon for parking.

Any other suggestions? I'm not real excited about not being able to bring my stroller ... my son likes to walk, I just don't think he can do it for a few hours. Plus this means I'll have to lug all my stuff by hand (what did we do before we had a kid? LOL).

We expect the weather to be quite nasty tomorrow, so we won't be able to sightsee much in town, I'm gathering. My sister assured me that the shopping in the Inner Harbor is indoors. Any other places that are a must see? Any good (but not ridiculously priced) restaurants?

Thanks!!

Quickly because I'm supposed to be cleaning for Linnea's birthday party. IIRC the aquarium rents out backpack carriers so if your ds gets tired you can use one of those. We don't travel with a stroller so we already had our carriers with us. We took a backpack for all of our stuff (Linnea was in a front carrier) and that worked well for us. There are tons of good restaurants in the area within walking distance. Even little italy is within walking distance if you don't mind a bit of a walk. The whole area is nice for exploring and we loved the aquarium. If I have time later I'll write more specifics.

If you don't have a backpack carrier, the Aquarium rents them out. We have done the trip with a backpack carrier with Kaya and it works pretty well. You can stash some of the extra stuff in the backpack carrier or if there are two of you, one of you can do a backpack of provisions and the other can carry your son. You may also want to bring a harness JIC the aquarium is crowded and your son wants to walk.

Two restaurants in the area that come to mind are Cheesecake Factory and Capitol City Brewery.

I hope you have fun!

ETA: If you take a short walk (from the Aquarium) towards the Barnes and Noble, in that little area there is a Chipotle's that's casual, good eating, and fairly inexpensive. Yes, it's a chain, but so is Cheesecake Factory. ;)
