Shannie belonged to a woman who is on my diabetic cat board. She was a wonderful dog but died unexpectedly very recently. Shannie's "mom" would just be thrilled to have her win this contest as a remembrance of her.

I didn't think to vote for my husband. I should note that they do check IP addresses, so too many votes from one place might not help.

Unless you used different computers from different locations to put in those votes, they'll be taken out at the end of voting. :(

I'm confused about this. What if a binch of students vote at school? Same ip? Can't discount them all.

Yes, it would discount them all but one, unfortunately. That's by far the simplest way to prevent people from stuffing the ballot box, even if it unfairly knocks out people who use the same IP address (at work, school, a coffee shop, etc.).

On the bright side, maybe one of the ones ahead of her has had someone voting repeatedly from the same IP address. So at least there's still hope.
