So, I say the polite thing is to igore the whole situation. DH responds with "okay." What do you do? (And, yes, I must have too much time on my hands!)

I always say "You're excused" auto response programmed very early by my mom. I also say "Thank you." if someone blesses me when I sneeze.

I either ignore it, of if it's improssible to ignore (e.g., someone is speaking to me and making eye contact when it happens) I sort of dip my head a bit as if to say "it's OK, go on."

If it's Payton I say, "Thank you." If it's an adult, I generally ignore it. Unless it's DH, and then I point out Daddy's good manners to Payton :)

I voted nothing but it would not be unheard of to hear "good one" at my house coming from one of the male members LOL

Growing up, when someone said "excuse me" after burping, we would respond with "certainly". I've continued this out of habit and now the boys say it too.(it's so cute :) )

I work with kids all day. they don't even say excuse me so i am always saying, "excuse you".

i guess i have never thought of this. it made me laugh at the question. i don't think i say anything at all.

If a child says it, I saw "you're excused." Otherwise, I don't say anything.

Depending on the situation and the person, I've been known to say, "ooh, nice one." Or, "how'd that work out for ya?" Or, "better the second time?" I have no couth.

Nod my head to acknowledge. Haven't gotten DS to say it yet, but when he does, will be more verbal to encourage the behavior.

For adults, I do nothing. If it's my DD, I tell her "thank you", because I want to give her positive feedback when she's using her manners.

Good one! I voted nothing because after "excuse me" I wouldn't know what to say. I'll keep that one in mind.
