Oh sweet Jebus. She's got student loans? Yeah, well, join the club sweatheart.

Did anyone ever see the girl who had a website asking for people to help pay off her credit card debt? Save Karen dot com or something. She was, in fact, able to pay everything off thru donations (people are suckers IMHO). I've even seen them for people looking to fund boob jobs and stuff.

I say, use that brain power for something else that's actually constructive.

At first, I thought maybe it was a commentary on how ridiculous people will be when it comes to getting that *one hit toy*. But then I realized, she is serious. Yikes. Can't fault a girl for trying though.
I should hope shipping is free...

That one's not too bad. A couple weeks ago there were some up for auction for up to $10 million! I swear, I was reading through a few of them...some for charity, some for things similar to this one. I wonder if any of them sold. One of them was actually pretty clever....a Dad said he'd fly to your house dressed as Santa Claus & hand deliver the Elmo to your child on Christmas day. Not sure I'd trust some random stranger but I thought that someone might actually consider it. Of course if you had enough money to pay for it, you could probably hire a "reputable Santa" to come to your house too.

Check these two, the first is for $20 million!:

Type in TMX Elmo on the e-bay search & have them listed by highest first, there's a bunch that are just ridiculous prices. If nothing else, some of them are pretty funny. ;)

I hope this is a joke, because if you look at some of the other things she has sold (Coach and Dooney & Bourke handbags, Gymboree clothes, etc.), she apparently isn't lacking for money. I'm guessing she is trying to fund her own expenses and not her daughter's college education!

Even though she seems serious, I have to wonder if she has any realistic expectation of getting even one bid?????

If you really need money, maybe you should be wasting it on listing fees that won't lead to anything.

Or did one of you moneybags out there go help that nice lady pay off her student loans!!!!!!;-)

No, the bulk of her debt (that save Caren site) was paid off by selling a lot of stuff on ebay and her own cash. She had a little pie chart and donations were not the bulk of it. I say, more power to her for getting out of debt anyway she could.

As for THIS auction, she is clearly not being rational. $40,000 for a single doll from a single person. Ummm, not likely.

Shoot, I paid about $80 for mine. Still haven't received it yet though. Maybe If I'd have paid $40K I would have gotten it by now. ;)

I should hope shipping is door-to-door 1st class via helicopter at that price! ;) Oh, and throw in a bottle of Dom Perignon while you're at it... '62 vintage, please. None of those cheap plastic champagne glasses either.
