DH has to work today, DS is in a cranky, whiny mood. I turn my back, and there's pen all over our microfiber couch....HELP!!! What can I use to get it out. I've tried the dog cleaner product and it's a little better but still there.......what else....the couch is a mid-green colour.

Apparently, hair spray works too. I have to wait for the fabric to dry to see if it's all out. I hope so, it was all along one arm and seat....sigh....

But in my searches for a solution I came across this product...does anyone know if it works...

DS LOVES pens, so I'm sure this isn't the first Oh Uh we'll have...thankfully it's wasn't a sharpie.

Hair Spray! That is what I use to get ink out of clothing all the time.

I had luck with this, on my red microfiber sofa:

Ultimately though, I am much more pleased with my sofa and chair in other fabrics (tougher velour and a leather chair). The microfiber just showed everything after a while with a toddler.

I have been told that rubbing alcohol works wonders on ink. I would try it on an inconspicuous spot first but if no problems then go for it. I have a friend who used it on both t-shirts and jeans and had great results.

Good luck!

Really any good upholstry product should get it out. We (the furniture store I work in) usualy recomend Bissel upholstry foam or Carbona. We don't recommend hair spray since it may set the stain if it doesn't get it all out. Go buy a good bottle of cleaner - it's not like it's the last time you'll need it. :)

Thanks everyone. The carpet cleaner and hair spray seem to have worked with no ill effect. I'll go get some good cleaners....I'm sure with DS I'll need it again and again and again...

Was it a ballpoint pen? Try rubbing alcohol with a spray bottle. That's what we used to get all the pen marks out of Mickey and Minnie's gloves when I worked at Disney.
