We sold a large TV on CL over the weekend. Sunday afternoon DS found a memory stick in the grass; once DH looked at the pics on it we figured out who is belonged to. His inclination was to keep it whereas I immediately emailed the buyer to say we have the stick and I'd mail it the next day.

My thinking is this - do unto others as you'd like others to do unto you (or however that goes). I also know that quite a few people do keep stockpiling pics on their sticks w/o savings them periodically. Therefore, could be this exact scenario (they have a young baby).

Just curious, that's all!

I can't even imagine keeping it if I knew who it belonged to.

DITTO, DITTO, DITTO!!! I would be heartbroken if I lost baby pictures but even if it didn't have any baby pictures you need to do the right thing. Think of what you would tell your child if s/he found someone else's toy on the playground...

As someone whose DH has dropped his iPOD 3 times (yes, 3) and had it returned by the kindness of strangers each time, I say return it. :)

I would return it too. I would hope that other people would do the same if something similar happened to me.

I think most people would return it. But I have a friend who bought a used car a few years back and found that the previous owner left her camera in the trunk. My friend did NOT return it, which really surprised me. You just never know with people.
