I am putting off putting her in a bed because I don't want to deal with her getting out of the bed , she doesn't mind being in the crib at all , I figured I'd wait until she's 3 1/2, is that old ???

We just moved DD, she'll be 3 next month. FWIW she LOVES her big girl bed.

She's tall and I didn't want her climbing in and out, so we decided to switch.

my younger dd will be 3 in Dec and is still in her crib, but just this week she has been asking for a "big girl bed". She also has been waking up about an hour early calling for me because she has to go to the bathroom, and doesn't want to go in her diaper (we still put a diaper on her at night). I've told her that maybe for her birthday she will get a new bed...

My DS is still in the crib. He will be 3 in January. He will remain in the crib until he can climb out or until he needs to use the potty. At this point we are not even close to potty training so I doubt it will be an issue.

DD is still in her crib, and won't get a twin until she asks for it. I'm hoping that's not for at least another year.

Some people don't like older toddlers/preschoolers in cribs. Luckily Sydney sleeps at your house so what you say goes. :)

I don't plan on moving DS until he close to 3. He's happy in his crib and sleeps really well there. Honestly, I think that when I was young people kept their kids in cribs much longer than they do today. I've never understood the rush to put your baby in a toddler bed or a twin, especially when I feel like DS is just too young for that even at 2.

DS got hs legs caught between the rails recently and we thought that was the beginning of the end of the crib. But he's still in there (and no more legs antics!). He is certainly tall enough to climb out and we have caught him playing around and hanging halfway over the rail, but he never tries to completely get out (yet!). So we're going to stay with it until it's a problem or maybe around Christmas when both DH and I will be home to try and keep him in a big boy bed (DS is a wanderer).

DS1 turned 3 a month ago and is still in a crib. We have tried a few nights without it and they were all disasters, so he is staying there for as long as needed.

Same situation here. When he climbs out consistently or starts PT, we'll put up the toddler bed. DS fell out the crib once, quite a few months ago now, and I haven't seen him try to climb out since.

We have a toddler bed waiting for him in the garage which is a hand-me-down from SIL so there is some pressure from that front to actually use the bed since she only used it a few months before nephew grew out of it.

DS sleeps in a travel crib (not a play'n'pack but a mini-wooden crib) at my folks (daycare 3 days a week) for which he is too long. My mom says he just curls up a little, so we'll stay with that, but if he starts complaining, we'll either move the big crib there and install the bed at our house OR, more likely, move him to the play-n-pack at my folks. The longer he's in that crib the better as far as I'm concerned.

Actually, now that I type this, I realize he is not napping at my folks very well, and not napping so much at our house either. Potential hi-jack here, I'll post a separate question.

My oldest slept in a crib past her 3rd birthday. She never wanted to climb out and I liked knowing where she was. :)

My dd is 2.5 today, and I see her being in the crib for at least another 8-10 months. She has no complaints, and short legs so she can't climb out lol (but she hasn't tried). Oh and she is PT, and we don't normally have any problems because she dosen't have anything to drink for about an hour before bed so she can make it until she gets up (but I do put a pullup on her JIC).

I hope it's not weird - my DD is 3 and still in her crib. She still seems comfortable there, and it has not occurred to her to try and climb out when the sides are up. We will probably put her in a bed near the holidays.
